I have very rarely seen any competitive prices from Elara, that's their main problem.

Recent experience with Komplett: ordered some stuff at 1am Monday, got the email that I can go get them from the pick up point at 2:45pm Wednesday. Impressive.

Like was said before elara is just too expensive.

Komplett's service is just utterly lacking. I had a HD that died on me that I bought less that a year ago so I sent it for RMA.
That took 2-3 weeks before any reply and then they didnt have that model is stock so they were going to refund me the money.

Problem is the were only going to refund me the cost of product and not the shipping I paid when purchasing the product and when I had to send it back to RMA.
Well after several phone calls and emails to komplett I got in put on to a manager who refunded me the money of the original shipping value. They were saying that it was against there policy to refund me the money of the shipping expenses that I had incurred.

Really poor stuff from komplett in general so in future I am going to stay well away from them (this is from a customer who has spent thousands there in the past)

Have people any experience with www.onestoppcshop.ie ? There prices seem very good and especially the delivery doesn't cost a fortune.

    Isn't that every company's policy?

They're so cheap because they charge UK vat.
I read a lot of negative reviews saying they sell products they don't have yet.
So if you're in a hurry, I wouldn't order from them.

There's a member on here who ordered from them before - I pm'd him but haven't got a reply.
Id play it safe and pay the extra few euro to a more reputable company.

Does anyone have any experience buying from www.quietpc.ie?
Looking to buy a case from them but haven't dealt with them before and haven't heard any reviews.

They are very nice to deal with. Have bought a few things off them. Have you checked out case-king.de ? They have a massive selection and would most likely be cheaper. Plus their delivery tops out at 44euro, so you could order a bit more if you needed :)

I've been trying to place an order with hardwareversand.de, but I cant enter my full address as I tells me both the street, and house number are too long. Anyone have any experience with getting around this?

    Thanks.

Could some one sum up all (normal) available e-shops in Ireland?
I am thinking about buying some steering wheel and to be honest I can't find any other but Logitech G27 (which is awesome, but too expensive for first wheel), Thurstmaster RGT Force Feedback Clutch and Ferrari GT Experience - which is too poor, because has only vibration, no feedback. Last ones I founded on Pixmania e-shop.
Basically I am looking for a ~50-70 EUR wheel with force feedback, fast shift levers and/or gear box, pedals (not necessary three).

    Thanks!

In Ireland, we have komplett.ie and elara.ie. Shipping here, ebuyer.com have a good selection, maybe you might find somewhere on amzon.co.uk that ship here.
I'd post in the Racing Sims forum. They might know any specialists or have recommendations.

Hmm... just noticed that QuietPC doesn't let you fill your county in on your address! :o I hope I get my fans!!

What are their delivery charges like? I'd rather take my chances with no county than pay Scan.co.uk £10 to post a package that weighs way less than a kilo (GPU cooler).

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 18,377 Mod ✭✭✭✭Solitaire

Varies, my two 120mm fans cost over €3 shipping, I can't check what a GPU cooler would cost to ship because QPC keeps tacking it onto my current order :o

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,259 ✭✭✭alb

Ah crap just put in a order with hardwareversand and the email about the payment has no link or details for paypal in it, just bank accounts. Do they no longer accept paypal or what happened I wonder, I've emailed asking, waiting on a reply now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,259 ✭✭✭alb

Looks like it might have been because I specified a different shipping address from invoice address. It was the same address anyway, it just formatted it arseways with the number at the end of the line so I added a new shippng address with correct format. There doesn't seem to be a way to cancel the order either from the site *sigh*

6.62 + UK vat as it happens, so a good result, pretty well half the price of Scan and Ebuyer. My lunchtime-placed order (also countyless) has already dispatched, so am suitably impressed thus far.

Surprised, I only had to pay about a Euro over my current shipping to get a cheap GPU cooler with the fans I'd already ordered...

EDIT - the basic Accelero L2 Pro (still a big boost over stock!) came to €13 inc VAT and shipping was less than a fiver on top of that :)

Ordered a bunch of parts from Hardware Versand on the 18th of October. Sent them the money the next day. 25th of October they E-Mail me saying one of the parts is not in stock but they will be getting it on the 28th and shipping the whole lot when they get it.

Haven't heard anything since, checked the site for that part and they still don't have it despite them telling me they would.

What should I do? Wait it out a bit longer?

Annoy them on auftrag@hardwareversand.de and ask what's happened. It sounds like the part missed its own shipping date and you'll need to alter your order, and make a second bank transfer (mercifully very quick after the first transaction) if there's outstanding balance as a result.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 206 ✭✭Sightaridis

I sent them an E-Mail and they said I could just wait for the part to come in or modify the order. When I asked how I would go about modifying the order I got no response.

The part in question is a PSU and I have found another on hardwareversand that is cheaper by 60 cent or so. How would I modify the order to swap this in? I assume no extra fees would need to be paid as it's cheaper than the PSU I am currently waiting on.

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 18,377 Mod ✭✭✭✭Solitaire

Ask them to replace *SKU no.* with *SKU no.*

Are you sure you need to go to that bother for 60-odd-cent though? :p

  • Registered Users Posts: 38 dolihalix

I'd say he's getting cheaper one that is on the stock so he wouldn't have to do another bank transfer ;)

This order arrived very promptly too, would have no hesitation in doing business with QuietPC again, fast and decent shipping prices from the UK.

I will never buy from Ebuyer again. Every single order I've placed with them lately has had parts missing or just not shown up. We've been using ebuyer at work for years and when I complained I got a standard off the self dismissal So they can shove their shop up their hole, may they go bankrupt and burn in hell forever. They've made it onto my boycott list.

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 18,377 Mod ✭✭✭✭Solitaire

Heh... they just shipped a SlimSATA drive to me listed as SATA on their site so I'm stuck and had to pay a load to Amazon for a flippin' adaptor

    Yeah, pretty much this.

SKU number? Is this the product code or something? And which E-Mail do I send this too?

    Thanks.

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 18,377 Mod ✭✭✭✭Solitaire

Sorry, forgot they call SKUs "Article-Numbers" or just "Art-Nr" there. They're 10-12 digit alphanumeric codes usually starting with "HV" and ending in "DE". And yes, Orders (Auftrag) is the right email addy, just make sure you get it done before it ships! :o

I don't think it will be shipping anytime soon. :D

    Thanks for the help. )
