I'm after suffering from an "undisplaced lateral fracture of my tibial plateau" - I've read online that I could be in a cast for up to 3months! Does anybody know if this is only in severe cases and regarding sport - will it have any effect on speed, ability to play on hard ground etc. etc.? I'll find out more when I meet my doctor during the week for a check up but I'm worrying about it now!!

You need to either get to your G.P or into A&E. We cant give medical advice on here! A doctor is the only person who can advise you.

Oh I know that - I've been to A&E I'm in a sports cast - was just trying to find out if anybody who might've had this injury before could let me know how it affected them playing sport, how long they were in the cast etc. etc.

the problem is that none of us will have seen the x-rays etc of your leg Paulie. It could be a realitivly standard break or could be a crazy one. You could be in a cast for 8 weeks with one or 27 weeks with another......without x-rays etc any advice you'd get here would be pretty crap.

The advice that mystik monkey just gave is spot on. everyone's healing times are different and their recovery process varies. really, only your doctor is going to be able to give you an accurate idea.
