You'd be well advised not to believe foggylad's "facts". He spent the last year moaning about the timetable having too much time, now it has been cut he is complaining there is not enough.

Take it from someone who has actually driven the route, the current timing is better. 2.30 Waterford to Dublin by that route is about right for daytime, 2.15-2.20 late night.
The route has not changed during the day but the times have changed and the huge gaps where there is no services have widened. They are obviously trying to poach passengers from the 11.15pm Kavanagh's service as this is usually very busy so bus eireann now have a bus at 10.30pm and another at 11.45pm which runs almost empty each night as most people have got the Kavanagh's service yet the only service before this leaves at 7.45pm.

Drivers are also complaining about the new times as well as breaking the law by driving through Inchicore village which is subject to a 3tonne limit. the 004 service is supposed to be routed out to Palmerstown and along the M50 to the Red Cow junction so does not have access through Inchicore, but many drivers are not going this way because it is too dangerous having to cut across at least three lanes of traffic to get into the little used Red Cow Luas stop.

All in all the new timetable was a disaster from day one and this damage limitation exercise is not doing anything except wasting more money.(boxes and boxes of new timetables were printed at great cost to the taxpayer, which will now have been binned because that type of glossy brochure can't be recycled!)

Eh buses are exempt from the 3T limit in Inchicore. If it is illegal how does the 126 operate via that route, or DB routes 13, 68 or 69?

Given Vic 08 is a BE driver I'd like to think he knows more about what drivers are saying than you do.

    As usual more hot air.

Only buses which are routed through Inchicore have "access". All other buses must use the route specified within their route licences.

Also yet again today the 16.10 bus from Carlow left at 16.25. Surely management are competent enough to see the plain insanity of this timetable?

It would be very interesting to see loadings for the late night services, Are they worth the extra money they must be costing at all?

One of the expressway cast-offs now being used on the Waterford to Dublin route has just arrived late into Carlow only for the driver to tell us he can't continue because the pile of junk has no working wipers and it is raining! Even the replacement bus from Waterford is late despite using the motorway!
