I've been trawling the net for somewhere to make your own pottery but have had no luck. I'm looking for somewhere I can go on a date with the Mrs and make our own vase or bowl or something on a Friday evening ideally.
It would need to be somewhere in Tipperary or Kilkenny tho.
Anyone know if there's anywhere that would suit?

Is it to physically make the item or just to paint/decorate a piece?
Actually throwing a bowl is a bit of a tall order to do in one day (they say it takes 7 years to make a thrower!) - However, if you want to decorate/glaze a piece of pre fired pottery - I know a couple of places in Carlow/Laois border if that's any use.

Decorating something and glazing it would be just fine. She wants to do something creative. I think she would like having something at the end too.

There are a number of Paint Your Own Pottery studios in Ireland now, where you can go along and paint a variety of items which are then fired in a kiln to make them food safe, they end up as a glazed piece, most studios have a great range of pieces and are happy to help with any ideas and designs you may have. A number of studios also offer other craft activities that you might like to try anything from silk painting, decopatch/decoupage, glass painting and glass fusing.
