    Hi everyone,

My partner suffers from a psoriatic arthritis and it has been on disability for about 3 years at this stage. He also has a medical card. He's been looked after by the specialist in Dublin however those visits take place only twice a year and it is up to the GP to monitor my partner and help him to manage pain. And here the problem starts, our old GP retired and the surgery was taken over by the guy who is very ignorant, disrespectful and in fairness not very up to date with modern medicine; he answers his phone in the middle of an appointment, makes very cheeky comments and casually asks: 'what do you want me to do about it ?' We have been patient, we've given him a chance but enough is enough. I need to find a good GP who would be willing to take on medical card patients who require regular pain management. We live in Kildare. I would appreciate your help guys.

    Patricia

Dr Ramadan is my doctor too, and is located on the Kildare side of Newbridge, so you'd avoid most of the traffic in the town. I've heard that the Bridge Medical Centre by the train station is good too (although I'm not mad about Dr O'Shea, but that just a personal thing). I think that's the one Ken is talking about.

The one I was talking about is the one across from the sport centre. Not sure if theirs a name on it.

Thank you all for reply. We know Dr Ramadan, he doesn't take medical card patients :(( unless something has changed recently. We are based in Newbridge and so is our current doctor.

Dr Bernard Healy at the Moorefield Medical Centre (near the garden centre) is great. Very nice guy, thorough, patiently explains everything. I think he takes medical card patients, too.

Hi i moved doctors last year and find my new doctor quite nice.
Her name is Dr. Linda Norton - Think its Curragh Grange family practice.
I was a medical card patient when i moved and there was no problem at all moving. I couldnt comment on how she would be though, with the specific issues you mentioned!
