Such a good performance from Maldonado, I still cant believe how composed he was! There was nothing lucky or fortuitous about his win-he was simply the best driver on the day. Its unbelievable to think that this kind of thing can happen in F1 where a team and driver just hook up their weekend perfectly and can win like this. After years of the same teams and drivers winning its a breath of fresh air to see Pastor and Williams claim a win.

Good pics frostie.
The man could do no wrong, i feared for him a bit when he pitted so early. What a contrast to senna's day. Pic of his car in the garage afterwoods.

+1 on that.
Both blaming each other for this one it seems. Great to see Williams back on top. Alonso looking like a serious contender in a pig of a car. At this rate, don't be surprised if Alonso is top of the standings after round 18. |

That would be a bit of an over reaction don't you think. There have been plenty of fires before KERS. Somebody probably got distracted by the win and didn't discharge it on Sennas car.

I have to say I bought tickets just because I was going to be on holidays in the Pyrenees around the same time. Spain is not one of my favourites but from a spectating point of view if you get a seat in section "f" at the end of the main staright and get a back row which means you can stand up whenever you want to (or dont) its simply brilliant.
From there you can see half the straight, the pit entrance, the chicane(y) bit at the end of the straight, the hill up to the first corner to the right, the straight after this. The cars disappear for a bit and then reappear for about another 15 seconds of the lap. Its by far the most amount of track I have been able to see anywhere - maybe 40+ seconds of a lap that lasts 1min 20 seconds if you sit at the very end of the straight. With regard to Senna/Schumacher - it happened right in front of me. I suppose as Schumi was behind it was his fault but Senna did seem to break very early as Michael was breaking way earlier than normal for some reason. With regards to Photos: how are you able to get such big photos up as I thought there was a limit to the size of the photo that was allowed? I had to reduce the one I put up so it looks fairly dire unlike Frosties! (You can just spot Michael on the moped) Best atmosphere along with Monza I have ever experienced - crazy Alonzo supporters. Yeah, one of the things I really enjoyed was the, kind of "friendly" upbeat atmosphere towards Alonso all throughout the weekend. |
