Hi, I am currently studing in Dublin, and my laptop just broke. If I get my mom to buy a new laptop in Thailand (where I'm from) and ship it over to Dublin, will I have to pay any tax??? Thank you.

You could get your mother to take it out of it's box and maybe into a laptop bag. Make sure all the labels are gone off the laptop and the plastic screen cover. Then send it. You could debate with customs if it gets stopped that you left your laptop behind.

Yes you could have to pay tax. Talk of tax evasion is not on.
