Skip to 34 seconds onwards. The beginning is just waffling commentary. The rest is great.

The screen shot if the video looks like she's wearing a cheerleaders uniform.
I'll assume I wasn't the only one thinking she'd have a very short skirt on...

No mention of braking distances , wet or dry in above video so it's very misleading.

Most of any cars braking(fwd rwd awd)is above 70% through the front wheels ,

so therefore new tyres on the front make more sense when it comes to shorter better braking distance wet or dry.

In fairness you can see it coming!

The sheepish lookin' head on the driver after the smack! :D No airbags deployed I notice.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,687 ✭✭✭✭wonski

    It was too slow.

The driver didn't look confident at all - he "floored" it every time he saw a straight.

Funnilly enough - nobody got hurt. Even the glasses were just fine. This is the first thing you check after crashing a car:D

Well it's obviously in the wet. And I wouldn't think there is much difference in performance between new and half worn tyres in the dry(half worn would possibly have a little better grip). Breaking distances yes would no doubt be better in the wet with newer tyres on the front. Car control in the event of aquaplaning through a corner is what the video is showing, which seems a lot better with the newer tyres on the rear. Even moreso under breaking.
