Any nice places? I've been to the Chineses, and Mohana, but haven't been to any of the new places (Greenes, Avenue) yet, anyone know if they're any good?

As a side note, just been to The Church restaurant with my SO,
creme bruleé very nearly made me cry - it was that good.:p

Avenue do excellent chicken wings by all accounts! Donatello's is hit and miss IMO.
Also, the newtown inn are going to start serving food again in the next couple of weeks, it'll be a chinese (I've been reliably informed)

Greene's restaraunt is nice but pricey. But very tasty. From what I hear, anyway.

    Supermacs? ;;>_>

Anyone know why Ken's shut down beside the shopping center? I had only just started going in when they shut down. Damn shame, cause they did an awesome lunch for 15 quid :(

I love the stonehaven, consistently good. Where is greenes?

Thought Greene's was very nice and will go again.

I have given up on the Avenue. Yes, wings are tasty & huge etc. but overall food is pretty either bland or plain bad and overpriced. :(

Liked Ken's, other Chineses arent the best really.

I've heard the food is nice in Greenes but that the smell of damp would put you off eating. The avenue is nice but pricey. the roost does a nice lasagne!

The Glenroyal is on the Michelin GUIDE!!!! :O

    For good reasons too!
Their carvery is the best i've ever had and the barfood in Saints is also vvvvvgood.

Can't recommend it enough! only thing is it's €15 for the carvery and pretty much the same in the bar... I figure Well worth it for the quality

Miccy Ds is opening up beside tescos soon! :D dunno when though!
Greenes do a nice chili chicken pasta thing but its pricey and not really worth it! that coffee mill place (downstairs) does nice chips! and tesco cafe is quite nice too! (i get hungry while i'm in college!)

For any veggies here Avenue do the most bestest burger, good service, good choice of beer etc.

I want to try Greene's and Stonehaven just looks like it ain't veg friendly!

    Be a winner, avoid Supermacs.

Pub grub around the place isn't bad, The Roost is quite steep for whats on offer. I love to drop into the cakeshop across the road from the bus stop when I've time to kill.

The Elite? I hated that place right up until the other day when got an amazing breakfast roll for 2.50.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,487 ✭✭✭banquo

Aye it's nice, and nice coffee too.

Only thing is that it's so busy where the tables are I feel like I'm in everyone's way when I eat there o_O

  • Registered Users Posts: 267 ✭✭redenemyjoe

Haha, yeah I get that too.

The chips in O'Neill's are delish, check them out.

Poxy MCD's are about to have themselves inundated with ravaging students. Mind you, summer will just fill it up with Spanish kids.

Since they redecorated and changed the place around, the food in Caulfields has been lovely.

Ah now! Garlic Cheese Chips wins every time (while drunk) and their cheese burgers are very nice.

Brady's is nice and they give you WAY to much.
