    Hi All
As the title says I think I need to update my BIOS as my PC had 512mb of RAM and I have upgraded this to 2GB ( 2x1GB )

I have started the PC and and I can see the upgrade was successful but Im sure I need to update my BIOS .

Is this true and how do I do it ?

    Thanks in advance:)

    No. Generally you don't.

On very rare occasions you may have to with very high performance ram/motherboard configurations.

Are you having trouble? What's your motherboard? What's the RAM?

you shouldnt have to update your bios but its always good to update anyway.

what motherboard do you have and what current bios version do you have.

but to be clear you do not under any circumstances have to update your bios for the new ram to work. if it states it as 2gb then its working perfectly.

If you can see the RAM, you don't need a BIOS update.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Agreed. Seen too many people make that mistake needlessly.
