Assume the Sheriff and the Bailiffs with Corpo officials will turn up (possibly with Gardai also) and remove all belongings and change the locks. effectively locking them out of the house.
Don't see it coming to that though, Social services will probably relocate them before that date even comes around. after all they can now prove that they are going to be "homeless" with children.

todays limerick post 16 july 2011 Garryowen Families Celebrate Circuit Court decision. Residents of a City housing estate are "Overjoyed" after a family, who it was claimed terrorised the ,community, lost a circuit court appeal against their eviction. Limerick City Council originally brought the "possession order, against the family in the district court last year, and Limerick Circuit Court upheld the order in recent days. Speaking to the Limerick Post this week, a resident of Fairview Crescent, Garryowen , who wished to remain nameless said: "its" Been a living hell here. The people of the area will be glad to see the back of them. I also hope other Families who are doing similar things will sit up and take notice." According to the source, "up to 20 Families" have left Fairview Crescent Garryowen since it was first built a decade ago. City Council Tenancy officials had issued the Family with several warnings about engaging in anti_social behaviour, before the courts order could be issued. "They were out all hours of the night causing mayhem for all of us. There are elderly and disabled people living here who just want to live in a peaceful estate," the source added. in 2010, there were more than 200 complaints made to the city local authority about the behaviour of the council tenants.
Garryowen resident and labour councillor, Gerry McLoughlin, accepted there were a lot of problems in Garryowen, but defended the area.
"I live at Sarsfield Avenue and i wouldn't move for the world.I've fantastic neighbours, it's a great place.Garryowen is one of the largest estates in the city.I know it has been neglected and something needs to be done for people here," Cllr McLoughlin said.
"the peopkle of Garryowen are entitled to as good a quality of life the same as everywhere else.i'm doing my best for the area but its hard to find money for facilities.Part of the problem is that Garryowen doesn't come under regeneration but, a lot of people living there wouldnt necessarily want that either," he added.
independent city councilor, John Gilligan, explained that it was a "last resort" to evict anyone from ther home,"but its a necessary option that must be open to us as s local authority".
He concluded: "some seem have an idea they can continue to be neighbours from hell and thats pretty frightening.People in general have to relise that there has to be consequences for their actions. Too many decent people have been driven out of ther homes and thats not fair either. So, where the council have to enforce eviction orders, I'll support it".

    council crackdown on property evictions
A LIMERICK woman accused in court of alleged anti-social behaviour is due to be evicted from a propert owned by Limerick City Council, following an order this week by Limerick district court.
The court heard this wednesday morning that a woman residing in Fairview Crescent, Garryowen was served with a notice to quit the property on september 9,2010, which was done so by hand after an interview with the tenant.
however, she refused to leave the property and an application for possession of the property was made to the court under Section 62 of the Housing Act the councils solicitor, Gerard Reidy, told the court.
Oliver O'Loughlin a tenancy enforcement officer with Limerick City Council gave evidence in court, regarding the matter and said decisions regarding evictions are made on a "case by case basil" .
Solicitor Ted McCarthy, on behalf of his client, queried whether it was "coincidental" that a number of people had been moved on from this estate.
However, judge Eamon O'Brien disputed this point, saying people were constantly being moved on from different parts of the city.
The exact nature of the alleged anti- social behaviour was not heard by the court at this stage. Judge O'Brien granted the order, allowing the property for six months, while also allowing the council liberty to re-enter the matter if necessary.

Coucil crackdown on evictions in city
    CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1
spokesman for Limerick City Council said they cannot comment on specific cases, but said the council affirms its commitment to all communties.
"Where anti-social behaviour is concerned, we're aware of the rights and responsibillities of individual families and their need for housing. We also aware of the rights and responsibillities of the community, who should be allowedlive in peace. We're aware of our responsibillity as a landlord to do whatever we can within the statutory powers available to us to ensure that the tenancy agreements are met," said the spokesperson.
earlier this month, at the Circuit Court a family in the same esate were given to the end of this month to pack there bags and leave their council house.
This family were said to have subjected their neighbours to a campaign of intimidation, and forced same residents to leave their homes in fear.
Limerick City Council applied for the possession order in this case over concerns that the estate was in danger of 'turning into a ghetto', according to a tenancy enforcement officer, because of the actions of the family who had threatened, harassed and assaulted their neighboure and caused damage to property including houses and cars.
After that case, CCTV cameras were due to be installed in Fairview Crescent and be monitored 24 hours a day at Henry Street Garda Station to ensure there is no further trouble in the weeks leading up to the family's eviction.
According to the council'c draft annual report of 2010, over 80 per cent of complaints received by the tenancy enforcement unit have been resolved.
Mayor of Limerick councillor Jim Long, said evicting an individual or family is often their last resort.
"It is a long,drawn-out process to Limerick City Council to bring people to court [to evict them],and its a case of more than three strikes you're out.But the amount of evictions that has gotten to the court is very low. Under new legislation, the court has been asked to take a serious look at it, and the net has tightened. There are powers out there for people now if they don't play the game," said mayor Long.
He added that for some time tenancy agreements between the council and an individual has been seen as "one-sided"with tenants calling on the council to address certain issues. But he said tenants "don't have t"

Hubble cost $2.5bn to construct and launch, slight flaw with your comparison.

The camera itself will be a good number of thousands, Then there's the cost of wiring it to Henry Street, or fitting some way of sending the pictures over the air. The pole probably cost a couple of thousand, and then you have the cost of labour. For all that €25,000 is pretty okay.

So they robbed the keys, robbed two fireplaces, and there is no mention of them being charged with theft and damage.

No doubt there new home in the southside of the city is being paid for by the council/HSE/random organisation, so they will be free to cause the same hassles again.

Delighted for the people who live in that avenue in Garryowen. At least they may get some decent people in their now. Crappy to think that other families were forced from their homes by the vermin beforehand though.

Well I like the destroying option.

But if crimes have taken place then the adults involved should be in prison and the children put into care as the adults has shown themselves incapable of being parents.

It is not as though the children could turn out much worse if put into care and the parents lost all rights to those children. As it is those children as just well on their way to becoming total and utter scum with a life of crime and inflicting themselves onto ordinary folk, so them being taking into care and fostered out eventually at least gives them a slight chance of being turned around.

The legal system in this country is too slow in terms of reaction, and far too lenient in terms of application imho.

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 17,615 Mod ✭✭✭✭Henry Ford III

Best bet would be to place the kids in care and try and to get them to function properly. It may be too late for that, and resources are scarce these times obviously.

Parents have shown they are not responsible adults and cannot/will not bother bringing up children properly. I'd therefore have them deported and sent into exile somewhere horrible.

    Just my 2c worth.

system not fair, says eldery man
It has emerged that tenants of City Council houses traumatised by terror at the hands of gangs who target their homes and the personal safety are not eligible to go on the housing waiting list again.
They have no entitlement to be rehoused by the local authority.
An elderly man who through sheer terror and no falt of his own was driven out of his home on one of the citys most notorious esates, is now barely managing to pay the rent for the private accommodation he secured in another area for months before he finaly fled his quailty of life rapidly deteriorated, and the Limerick Post has seen letters detailing the decline in his mental and physical health that where sent to the housing department in support of his appeal for alternative accommdation.
Said a relative:"this man raised a family in the house wich he kept in immaculate condition. With is family all grown up and gone he just wanted to live quietly and get on with his life he never thought he be forced out by thugs and now with cuts in pay and reduced hours in his part-time job he is skint after paying the rent

The system, at national and at local level, does not give a damn about people like that old man.

But utter scum can get rehoused pretty easily and convicted rapists can get nice houses in Murroe when they make claims that bigger scumbags are threatening them. Great little country for screwing over ordinary folk in favour of scum criminals and White collar criminals.
