    OP,where did you end up going?? The only shop I'd go to in Dublin is Classic in Temple bar, Tommy is on my bucket list.

    The only place you would visit is Classic Ink in Dublin :eek:, there are much better studios in Dublin imo.

    Horses for courses but Tommy is an incredible tattooer, respected on the international peers and has had the likes of Luke Wessman and Oliver Peck guest. His American tradational stuff looks amazing. I usually go to All-Star in Linerick but Tommy's on my bucket list.. The likes of Skin City do mostly realistic tattoos that look like crap 5 years down the line. The others are fine if you want a Celtic band or new school.

    :pac: here we go again you said this recently in another thread on Remis work to which I responded and you never replied you my friend are talking out of your anus. Ive read both sides to the argument and generally get the feeling of sour grapes and jealousy from those that aren't able to match Remis and other doing his style.

    Have you got proof of Pawels or Remis work looking like crap? You dont so your claims are unfounded. Adiboo on here has already countered you claims on Remis yet you still bang that drum constantly. All tattoos fade yes but to claim an artists work will look like crap in five years without having proof is a joke, nor do I buy into those claims saying the whites will fade and pigments wont hold as do many others including plenty of highly respected artists.

    The others are fine for celtic bands :pac: yeh im sure Brian Duffy, Kris Barnas , Rob Mulligan, Sean in Snakebite are only good for celtic bands :pac:, all incredibly talented artists. Plus I still dont think Classic Ink produce great traditional pieces but each to there own on that.

    Just to point out, I have tattoos done for 4/5 years that are nowhere close to fading.

    Fading is not only about how deep the ink goes in. Things like sun exposure, aftercare routines and general wear and tear have to be taken into consideration, too.

    Adiboo has tattoos by Remis that are a few years old, iirc, and they look as good as the week he got them done.

    Classic Ink are not one of the renowned studios that you seem to be claiming they are. Even a quick search of this forum (one of, if not the biggest Irish tattoo forum there is) will show you that.

    Zulu do feck all Celtic tattoos, which a glimpse at their portfolio will show. It is not something they specialise in, it's something they'll do if a customer specifically asks for it. Ditto Skin City.

    Your posts sound like they're shilling Classic Ink tbh, because I highly doubt you have tattoos by every single other studio/artist you enjoy bashing so much. Get some work done by all of them and then I'll listen more seriously to your ill-informed opinions.

    Telling us all that you love a specific studio, we'll take seriously. We all have our favourites, even if they're not the 'best' out there, they do the work we want and we've only had good experiences, so we'll always love them. But bashing the best known, most popular studios in Dublin? Bash them if you have good reason, but why tell blatant lies (only good for celtic bands? Really? :rolleyes: )? We'll listen to opinion here, but by lying like that, most of us are going to automatically ignore your opinion, ya know? Then again, that in itself is just my own opinion! I can only really speak for myself. :)

    You were asked to elaborate on your point/statement/opinion as many here have been tattooed by Dublin artists - and a good percentage through Skin City. If anything it's you who has gotten all "butt hurt over" from being questioned as to why you think realistic tattoos from said artists/studios don't age well in time. A contradiction in itself since you don't seem to have any evidence of what you claim.

    If realism isn't your style than that's perfectly fine. Everyone is entitled to their own individual opinion, however you went on to bad mouth an artists skill in creating a tattoo that can stick the ravages of time. That is what posters on here are calling you out on to discuss.

    You're the one getting sensitive.

    Hi guys,

    want to start a full sleeve with classic/old school tattoos.
    I'm quite new to Dublin, I'm only here for a year so I'm not quite familiar with tattoo shops or artists.

    For what I have seen in the internet there are 4 artists I really like:
    Tommy, from Classic Ink
    Fran, from Zulu
    Paul, from Spilled Ink
    Maikon, from Wildcat

    Would love to know your opinions and what is the artist you like the most, or recommend in Dublin (or other places) to do this kind of tattoo style.

    Hi Dermighty, I've spoke to Michal, I really like his work although I think is better with realism. Well, he said that.

    The thing I disliked the most was his attitude. He seemed very arrogant and almost told me the way my tattoo should be. Off course I need help from the artist to organize all the elements I want into a fluid sleeve, but didn't like his posture. Beside that, he fired a final price without knowing exactly what I want. And the price was huge!! :|

    Either way, I also think is a wonderful artist and does magnificent stuff!

    Yeh I'll give yeh that he's not exactly a people person but a talented artist all the same.

    Have you looked at Rob Mulligan? Or if you are willing to travel a bit Ross Nagle?

    This is the hardest part... to decide where to get the tattoos...

    There is other guy, Michele, of Dublin Art in Sandyford but I think is more into Japanese style tatoo.

    Well... for what I've read in this thread, there are lots of good artists. Opinions are not consensual, but... never are! :)

    Will have to make up my mind. Would like to go to the best, but I think the best is quite relative! :D

    Having had experiences with both artists mentioned, Rob Mulligan is leagues ahead in every way.His manner,artistry and respect for his clients is way beyond anything Michele would dream of!

    I was mistreated by Michele and his staff when tattooed by him in Temple Bar and I know of a lot of others who have had similar experiences.

    Have to butt in here too and say I really liked Michal, he's sound guy who doesn't talk bull**** for the sake of chit chat and I wouldn't mistake that for arrogance at all. I was just in for a script tattoo and whilst I was joking to him about how boring they must be to do, he responded in saying all that matters is what it means to the person getting it. He also had the patience to test it on 3 places on my arm before I made my mind up :)
