Have to say, well done to the NFL for the week 1 schedule. Plenty of good games.

Praise the Lord the NFL is back this week, will very help with lifting the pain caused from watching Dublin being put to the sword by Donegal on Sunday.

Seattle/ Green Bay going large on the over.

    People working Friday/staying up Thursday?

The league is growing in popularity in the office so much harder to avoid results.

Over 46? Would you not expect it to be a low scoring game while both offences find their feet early on in the year?

Apart from Vernon on C4 the next Saturday, is there any round-up show earlier in the week? Vernon always feels a week late.

Nah, go to work, avoid all media and any potential texting mates on Friday, and enjoy it in full Friday night after work! Condensed view is great at times but this game is a monster and demands a proper full view.

Happy nfl season Eve gentlemen. Jesus it seems to get longer every year. I follow the nba and mlb so I have sport most of the year but still the nfl the one I've followed longest.

I don't nearly have the discipline to avoid twitter all day :)

Going to stay up for it as I'm back to work on Monday so this will be the only chance I get to watch a late game without feeling, looking and performing like a zombie the next day after until around Christmas. :pac:

I can't wait now. Hopefully the game isn't a disappointment but I'm sure it won't be.

Got 15/16 predictions in week 1 last year, but I can't see that happening this week. Week one is always difficult to call and there are a few games that could easily go either way.

What was the website we used last year to record your picks each year?

That'll be a little handier than trying to keep scores through various weekly threads

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,118 ✭✭✭Onecoolcookie

Yeah we used to do the picks competition on cbssports.com, has it been activated again this year?

I'm going to say packers to Wi out of home risk, buy either way I think there is a very good chance of the over. From our perspective we've got Rodgers back, and with a running game to back him up (can't say how excited any FB fan has to be over this, our running game was so bad that from 2010 he was our second leading g rusher, and only about 60 yards off being first!) and appear to have hit the ground running on a largely no-huddle offense that could cause nightmares for any defense. The Seahawks defense is outrageous, at home especially, but I fully expect us to be able to put up at least 20 on them.

On the other hand Raj and Pickets are gone from our defensive line and there are a lot of questions there, while Russell Wilson is likely to step up another level with the confidence of have g the superbowl question always asked of every QB ever now out of the way, not to mention playing at Seahawks Stadium of all places, right off the back of their first ever SB win.
