very tough - high winds for the first 3 days making fly fishing (and boat handling) tough and clear skies all day on the 4th day. I caught a good few brownies including a few nice ones, the guys I was with caught 1 good sea trout on the fly and a grilse and another on the troll. Good fun but you really work for your fish. Will be going back.

I have delayed the sending out.
The dozen flies I tied went missing, they still are AWOL.
So I had to tie up a duplicate set, and that went to Okedoke today.
He should have them and be ok for sending them at the end of the week.

just a small suggestion, but has any one ever noticed how at a lot of angling club meetings some members donate their prizes to Des Chew for the Angling Initiative ( they do great work getting kids into angling, including Fly Fishing ) so how about organising a tying session where people instead of swapping flies Donate them to the Initiative instead. If people feel they would like this idea perhaps someone could come up with a list of flies (I think the kids mostly fish rainbow fisheries ,and I'm a river man) Those interested could tie some or all of the list and send them on to Des Chew. Each set would give a kid a good start, instead of the rubbish that pass for flies that come with fly rod sets. Any takers?

Sounds good to me - or we all just tie a few extra for that purpose. That way we get flies, the kids get flies and everyone is happy!:D

I'm off on my holidays in two weeks so I'll sit this one out.

Not a lot of interest right now - maybe we'll leave it off until the season is over - something to do on those long winter nights:D

Anyone interested in another one of these? Some off season fly tying.
