Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Keeping the Worms Alive

    Hey

    I bought a couple of cartons of dendrobaena worms there on Saturday. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on keeping them alive after the day fishing?

    Just pop em in the fridge if you can,try not to have it set too cold either,itll depend on how long they were in the shop before you bought them as to how long they will last for.

    put them in a big bucket or container,make sure you have a lid on it , fill it with soil and add some strips of paper or broken egg shell cartons

    Yes shredded paper is very good...

    The above option is better for lobworms rather than dendros.

    The best was to store dendros is in a 50/50 mixture of fresh horse manure and moss peat, slightly dampened.

    They will thrive in this for months and will put on great condition, even breed.

    Store them in a cool area, in a container with a lid as they are escape artists.

    Aything above 24 degrees is lethal to worms.
