    Basically as you see it´s the same system but first one has Truelife, 250g HD and the GForce 8600. Second one though has no Truelife and only 160g HD and the GForce 8400 but it´s 3G RAM. I would try and get them for 766 euros or thereabouts each. Any opinions, anyone? For general use (and perhaps a bit of gaming) which would be considered the best one?

    Thanks in advance.

    I'd go with the first one. The 2GBs should be fine and it is fairly cheap and easy to upgrade the ram should you need to at a later date. You wouldn't be able to upgrade the graphics card and upgrading the hard drive would probably cost more to upgrade than the ram.

    The first one is the one to go for. If they're both the same price, the first one has a much better gfx card, more hard drive and truelife screen, versus the second one only having 1gig extra ram but less hard drive and gfx and screen. If you want to upgrade ram you can buy a 2gig stick and pop it in.

    First one IMO;

    Cons; Less RAM - you can always but 1gb more later if you need it.
    Pros; Truelife, Bluetooth, Better video card

    The 1st has dedicated RAM for the card, the other one doesn't. Probably shared RAM crappo. Won't play many games.

    On the 8400, I think the 128MB is actually on the card but it has that turbocache crap that increases it to around 384MB I think.

    Yeah, the 8400M GS does have 128mb dedicated. It plays HL2 fine at full settings, wouldnt be up to much for newer stuff.

    Go with the first one if you're a gamer.

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T5450 (1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2-cache)

    When a processor spec has 2mb as above does this mean you will never be able to upgrade the memory above 2mb also what are the advantages of going for this one instead

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7250 (2.00 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB)

    Upgrading processors in a laptop is tricky. If you don't mind splashing out, go for the T7250. It is faster and its front side bus runs at 800 MHz (essentially better performance). Slow FSB speeds can be a right bottleneck.
