Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hi everyone, sorry to intrude on your forum, but I thought this might be of interest to you - a few of our members are also chess players.

    A few of us have recently set up a Backgammon Club in Galway city. Our numbers are small, but we're hoping to grow!

    We meet on Tuesdays at 8pm, upstairs in Busker Browne's on Cross St, right in the centre of the city. New players are always welcome, regardless of experience or ability! If you have a board, bring it along, but we'll be able to accommodate you if you don't.

    There's a very active club that meets in Sandycove once a month - all very nice people. Not sure how they cater for beginners, but I'm sure that they would be happy to hear from you: http://dublinsouthbackgammon.webs.com/

    UPDATE: Backgammon Galway is now meeting in McDonagh's 'The Thatch' in Oranmore on Tuesday's at 8pm. All welcome, beginners and more experienced players alike.
