Here's my apple cider. Crushed three different varieties of apples. Tasted unreal - none left now Im afraid. This was my first attempt at homebrew and worked out very well indeed. Finished up at 7%. Brewed it 2 years ago.

Here's a pic of my apple and raspberry cider.

    201280.jpg

I don't have any of the apple, but I'll get one tonight. :)

Here's a pic of the bottles I got from the apple and raspberry batch. I got about twice this amount from the apple only batch:

I hope that Hefe tastes as good as it looks Oblivious. Mmmmmm....

Apple and raspberry cider sounds lovely Khannie.

Also might be worth mentioning if your brew is all-grain, a kit, or something from the wild (eg Elderflower champagne or strawberry wine etc) along with the photo you post.

Coopers IPA kit. It's nice to drink but not nearly hoppy enough for me. Going extract brewing next as I'm a bit of a hop head.

That looks great! Still learning the ropes on this whole home brew thing, but I look forward to getting to the point where I can make some of that kind of beer

Kolch is a great style if you want a beer for lager drinkers without the hassle of temp control.

Roast oak leaves? Did you just go and gather up some oak leaves roast them?

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 37,485 Mod ✭✭✭✭Khannie

Haha. My daughter came over and asked about the pic, so I explained it to her and she said "how did he make it with no arms or hands?" and I was  so I said "I never said he had no arms or hands"....."but you said the sky made it" (this guy -> the sky). :D

Well the original recipe (which apparently dates back to the 1600's) calls for dried oak leaves. So my mate picked them and we dried them in the oven. Then put them in muslin and steeped it in the initial boil.

Khannie your daughters story made me chuckle!

And Hooptee079, think you posted in the wrong forum mate.

Can I get anyone a beer? This is most of what I have in the homebrew stash at the moment:
    homebrews.jpg
I keep one bottle of every brew for some purpose that isn't clear yet. You can see some of them over at the far right.

And here are some bottles ready for use over in emptytown:

And this is what I'm drinking now: a citra/summit amber ale:

Agreed. I've never seen a delicious looking attic before. :D

A couple of extra fermenters, loads of empty bottles plus some free weekends and

Where do you get all the bottles? Years of hoarding or some secret deal with a pub owner?

This. I pretty much didn't throw out a bottle between 2008 and 2011. Nowadays I can be fussy and have a few specific shapes I collect...
    viper123 wrote: »

... that said, the Bull & Castle has been very good to me for empty swingtops. Meanwhile, my local may have noticed it doesn't return as many pint bottles of Guinness and Bulmers for the deposit as it used to. Though the staff say clearing empties from the beer garden is much less work than before.

My brown porter, very hoppy red ale and wheat pale ale. The porters definately my favourite. The red was a bit brighter but no amount of explaining was going to stop my mate pouring every last drop into the glass.

Mines a Scruffy Blond lordstilton :pac:

BeerNut, that's a great setup. Never even thought of the attic. I have beer in wardrobes, cupboards, empty bottles & spare fermenter under the stairs. A brew that's been 4 weeks tipping away in the spare room, spare bottles in the utility. Hmm must invest in a stira :)

I have about 120 bottles in the 3 stages - fermenting, conditioning & some in the fridge[think I hear one calling me as I type........]

Coopers Inda Pale Ale 5.3%. Cheers!

Lordstilton, mines a Volvic, off the shelf.

    Martyn1989 - nice photo.

Some very impressive setups there folks. I bottled a batch of cider last night. You can get an idea of the colour in the clear glass bottle over on the right hand side. Can't wait for it. Going to kick off another one soon so that they can properly age before I drink them all. :)
