Hi Guys. Maybe a Dublin taxi driver could point a guy in the right direction.

Im going with the wife and 2 kids to Leopardstown races on St Stephens Day from Drumcondra. Now i'll probably get a bus/luas there but would love to taxi it back. What is the approximate fare from the racecourse to Drumcondra about 4pm. Its prob best to avoid the M50 and go thru town or east link.

    cheers in advance.

Rough guess would be 30-35. Having said that you will probably find it difficult to get a taxi from there on Stephens day.

Transport for Ireland has a nice estimator for this http://www.transportforireland.ie/taxi/taxi-fare-estimator/ .

A Dublin Bus Rambler ticket costs €13.50 and will cover your family for the day there and back if you are feeling brave on the trip home or if the bookies fleeced you. You can either get the 11 directly to Sandyford and walk across from Sandyford Luas stop or a bus into town and a 47 from Fleet Street (Again, get off at Sandyford Luas stop) or a 46A or 145 from D'Olier Street and walk in from Galloping Green or Brewery Road. Both walks will be about 10-15 minutes.

Taxi wise, there is no need to hit the M 50 or the East Link as they will be crazy dog legs which will hike the far up on you.
