i never tried that - but im brutal at sewing. i can put a button on a shirt but dont ask me to hem anything! (pass it to mam/nanny or hit zipyard) - it looks really interesting though. itd be cool to make my own quilted bag with something mad on it.

im watching firefly at the mo. i really liked serenity but never saw the series it was based on/after. its good. why they stopped at 14 episodes is beyond me. they dont make scifi and paranormal tv like they used to! (x files, buffy - there were others but i cant think of em at the moment) even star trek got shoddy with enterprise although it shant die as the old stuff is too ingrained in the 'not twilight' generation. things ainty what they used to be etc. *old fogy grumble*

    No-one was watching it. :(

they did a movie though to tie up the loose ends. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379786/

yeah i liked serenity - thats why i started watching firefly, its just hard to imagine it did so poorly. babylon 5, and farscape etc were pretty big as tv shows go
i wonder if this happened during the hollywood writers strike or something. i cant remember when that was. but i know several shows and movies suffered from it

Nah, it just wasn't picked up by any major networks, and it had really bad viewing figures. Surprising since it was from the pen of the Mighty Joss, but that was around the time series 6 of Buffy was filming, if I remember correctly, so I think he was concentrating more on that, rather than his new show. Once Firefly was cancelled, that's how come Nathan Fillon went onto play the Preacher in Buffy series 7.

    Wow I'm a nerd. :o

i thought fox was pretty big?
i did read though, that they wouldnt sell the rights to it so someone else could produce a second season - they didnt fancy another star wars story. its silly though, if theyve no intention of making more then its not gonna make money. if they sold the rights and it went on to be bigger, better, got viewing figures and was making money then its not down to fox (though down to joss whedon of course), i guess networks tend to be pretty precious about their stuff, even if they dont want it they dont want anyone else to have it and potentially do better things with it.
which is a pity as i think television suffers for it. then other networks are lft to make ****e rehashes or copies, instead of improving obn something that is already good. just look at the tripe on rte (when bad reality tv gets worse)

D'oh, it appears my nerdery on this one isn't up to much. I thought it was on Syfy, not Fox.

I thought it was the other way round? Season six of Buffy was so bad because Whedon was concentrating on Firefly, which was amazing.

I dunno, I kind of liked season 6...

How good are first kisses!!! :D

I got a cold soar after my first kiss :(

The kiss itself was electrifying. It was like a scene from Grease:

On another note: John Travolta was so hot when he was younger.

ive got chills, theyre multiplyin and im losing control....

travolta was a hottie till the last 10 possibly 15 years. he was still a nice lookin guy in look whos talking etc.

Speaking of Travolta, I wish clubs were more like this:

    The music, not so pumpy,
    The crowd, well dressed,
The dancing, still retaining a bit of technique and flare.

Am I old-fashioned or just gay?

No one's vomiting or crying. It's not very realistic.

If I looked the grease song, I'd only want to watch the film and now I've got Dirty Dancing in my head to. Anyone want to put Baby (and Crumble) in the corner :P

In work (where I'm not out and it's a VERY non-PC place...), I just got asked what my favourite porno sites are! Oh dear. Cue me stammering and looking like a rabbit caught in headlights... my friends say I should have lines prepared for times like this. I dont think an honest answer would have gone down well at all... haha.

Just go with a general repository where you can get most flavours. i feel weird naming porn sites on here...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,207 ✭✭✭jaffacakesyum

You could've just said you don't watch porn :P

Porn is crap anyway. Especially lesbian porn. Three words: Long false nails  *shudders* :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,512 ✭✭✭baby and crumble

Ah, you just need to find the right porn, Jaffa ;). It's not all made by straight blokes for straight blokes. There's some good stuff out there.

Yes, I sound like a horn dog. I don't care.

What can I say, I was in a long distance relationship for 18 months. You find out all sorts of things on the internets in times like that! :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,207 ✭✭✭jaffacakesyum

To be fair, I have seen some good porn. But most of it is ridiculously fake crap :P

Ah sure in a few years there will be interactive virtual porn and sexbots and what not :pac:

It's so blatantly obvious when lesbian porn is made with a male audience in mind - half of what's done doesn't look like it would turn anyone on, the performers don't look interested at all and the long nails thing is a killer. It's hilariously bad at times.

And the outrageous screaming/moaning haha. It is quite funny.

I know everyone has different tastes but all the huge fake tits in porn is such a turn off too.

I think I should go into directing porn. I'd make a fortune :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,512 ✭✭✭baby and crumble

I do occasionally like watching it for the hilarity factor. I don't want pneumatic women with what can only be described as tallons screaming at me. Honestly, it's like they're all just really really angry, all the time. It's bizarre.

Alot of porn is generic and directed at the straight male market. Most directors must be given a bullet point format on how to through one together. Rearly does one actually find something of quality.
