If you don't avail of clubcard deals, Tesco have a new offer where you can double the value of your vouchers to spend in store on: Clothing, Baby&Toddler, Flowers, Suncare, Frozen Foods.

You bring your clubcard vouchers to the store (in €5 increments) and exchange them for reward tokens before 5 June and spend them on the above products before 15 June. http://www.tesco.ie/clubcardexchange/

Seems like every time someone goes to and spends 5 euro to avail they will buy lots of other things too, so they not only have you going in more and buying more they also make you think that you are coming out on top? Go in with a list and stick to it I'd say.
Maybe they have figured out its the "I need that factor" everytime someone shops and pics up extra stuff each time?

Yes thats important, and all most of the sun cream is half price at €9.85..... so pick up a pack of tanning wipes too for 75c!

Single packs of socks are €1.25 in clothing!

3 pack of white ones, lol those were the ones I got to make up the shortfall :D

Better value in my opinion using these vouchers for some of the other offers where you get 4 times the value. Some examples are Dublin Zoo, Irish ferries, some of the French holiday camps, various hotels and loads more

Can I use my old vouchers that I've been saving up? Or are they only the vouchers from this mailing?

I'm a bit wary of the Ferries one - I happened to have €85 in vouchers (mainly from a deal where they gave 25% "back" on a iPod a year or two ago) so managed to book a trip to France and got €340 off the trip - though this was a great deal, I didn't SAVE €340 because the price for a booking using Tesco vouchers is DIFFERENT from that available in an ordinary online booking - it's HIGHER! I'd say I saved about €170 i.e. I got double my voucher value. I suppose the way it works is the voucher price is the list price, whereas most times, out of high season you will always find there is some discount or deal to be had for straight cash.

My guess is that the best time to use the vouchers for the Ferries is in high season - when you won't get any bargains or discounts online.

Its classed as a telephone booking, therefor you dont get the online discount

Yes you can I used vouchers from the previous mailing no problems at all. I asked at customer service and was told that once they are in date they can be used.

I wonder have the prices increased over the last few weeks in the 5 departments mentioned, knowing that the promotion was upcoming?

I can only speak for the health and beauty and clothing but the price on suncream went down, mostly half price on the sprays and fake tan.

Clothing is still 1.15 euro versus sterling and has been with over a year. Changing prices on clothes is a nightmare as each item needs to be stickered so I'd doubt they'd bother.

I don't think that's how it works. I think they just have a marketing budget for the year and select certain weeks to spend it in different ways.

Another tip if you like your Big Als burgers,i had two E1 off coupons to use on the shop yesterday, both were for burgers but a different variety and they both scanned off the 1 pk so take another E2 off your frozen dpt spend if you like ;).

I haven't got the vouchers, but a friend of mine says they got them and it says on the voucher you have to spend 10 euro instore before you get the 10 euro off. So you have to spend 20 to get 10 off? Is this right?

    No.

Ok this is the actual voucher my friend got. Is this a completely different voucher than from the offer? Because it states "When you spend €10.00 or more on...."

    Or am i missing something?

No, it just means you have to spend at least €10 on clothes and then the voucher reduces your bill by that much. Like, if you buy clothing worth €12, you can use the voucher, then pay the balance of €2. Hope that makes sense?!

Ah got ya thanks. It was the small print that was confusing me. "You must spend at least €10.00 in the department after any discount in one transaction"

It's the 'after' bit that was putting me out. But sounds a good deal then if thats the way it is. Thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 191 ✭✭Jessica Fletcher

You're welcome and yeah, I see what you mean! So if you're buying something that's €6 for one or two for €9, then you get that discount but you've to spend another €1 to use the tenner voucher :)

Yeah I get what you mean, I think this is because some items in clothing are '2 for €9.50 etc' but €7.50 each, You get people thinking I have spent €15 because I bought 2 items for 7.50 each....but its 9.50 after the first offer.

    I'm getting confused now.....:)

OK, you buy all your stuff and then the till person presses total, this is what you use your €10 voucher to pay for

Not the price of the items before any other offers.

Got toaster and kettle of this the last time it was up north here. Think shaver a time before :D Just wish they'd properly merge my 2 accounts now so can see if missed any vouchers

Can be annoyin that its only certain products but few bits and pieces worth gettin usually:D Wanted to get saucepan set last time but no luck :(

I'm sure if its well received it will be extended to the lower margin products.

Tesco have 25% off some of their clothing range at the moment. Maybe get some extra value for the vouchers

I see they are currently running the Clubcard Voucher Exchange in the UK...but no sign of it in Ireland this year.
So I've emailed their head office today to find out have they anything planned...saved a fortune last year on nappies by stocking up big time
