Hi all, wondering if anyone from Bray studying in DCU got the adjacent or nonadjacent rate for the susi grant? I would assume they would take the shorter distance through town which is approx. 28km instead of the M50 which is 43km. Thanks

Shortest distance is always taken. tolls are avoided and this would be an extra expense on the student. Either way is below the 45km threshold.

Thanks for the reply, I figured they would. I'm 46.4km away via the M50 which, depending on my timetable, would be the way I'm going.

I guess they think that anyone who can afford to pay a toll twice a day along with petrol tax insurance etc diesnt need a grant.

No, it's anyone that lives 45km or more from where they ordinarily reside to the college using the shortest route and avoiding any expense of tolls.

There are plenty of students that qualify for a grant as well as work part time enabling them to use whatever route and expense they choose, but there has to criteria set out to ensure the process is fair to all that live outside the 45km radius.
