Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Dublin for the day - public transport

    Lived in Dublin over 10 years ago. Bringing the family up for one night and want to use public transport (Luas, Bus, Dart) around city centre for various trips - what is the best to pay for this - is there a Day Pass card? Family Card?

    As far as I know, there is no one for all family ticket. There is a family pass for Dublin Bus & Irish Rail which is €17.40, or a Dublin Bus only pass for €11. An Irish Rail only pass will cost €15.70. All tickets cover up to 2 adults and 4 children under 16 years.

    Oddly, despite their recent advertising of family days out on Luas, there is no family pass available. If there is, it's hidden well on their website. You can buy an adult daily Luas ticket from a ticket agent for €6.10 and €2.30 for children (prices cost slightly more when bought from a machine).
