    Hi all,

There is a knocking noise coming front that I can heir on the front passanger side of my focus. Its a mk2 version for extra info.

Iv had a look to try and isolate the problem but cant seem to figure it out. At first I as thinking is a bearing but tried the test methods for that and it didnt seem to make any noise and theres no kind of whin noise when driving along. Though when I spon the wheel forwards it made a slight knock and then when I started to spin backwards on the same thing. It only knocked when it started to spin, not on a continuous spin, which I found odd. Then I started to notice that the knocking is only coming on going over bumps on the road, when taking off and when changing from first to second at about 2500rpm (when driving slow). Iv pushed down on the suspension, gave the tie rod ends a shake and had a visual inspection of the brakes.

This noise is starting to drive me mad and a bit nervous incase driving may cause damage. Can anyone give me some advice on where to isolate this noise?

    Thanks for any help

You wont get to the root of the noise with that approach. Get in there with a bar.
