Saw him play in belfast in 2008. It was amazing

I'd say this could be very interesting. Pricey though

€80 is a bit pricey (have tickemaster to lump their tax onto that as well?) and also, an outdoor concert, in Ireland, probably not the best of ideas despite how much I'd love to go and see this.

will these be sold through ticketmaster?

I MUST get 3 tickets I Must I tells ya.

nothing on TM or Morricones site?

I too was there, at the second night, it was fantastic. I'm surprised that this is being held outdoors, as it can't compare favourably with the acoustically designed Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

    Thanks for the clip Mec-a-nic

Was trying to make up my mind on the investment, your clip convinced me.

Yeah, thanks for that. That's the sister's birthday present sorted and I couldn't possibly let her go unaccompanied...

I wonder is he bringing the whole kit and caboodle over for just one gig i.e. will there be a second (indoor) one? Leonard Cohen played Kilmainham there a few years back and he has an orchestra. I wonder what the sound like was at that.

Its a 97 piece orchestra and a 100+ choir so I don't think its pricey when you consider that. I'm just hoping it doesn't rain!

It's Ireland. Of course it won't rain

Having a concert like this outdoors is ridiculous. The acoustics will be non-existent. Especially if you're in the "cheap" seats.
edit: I'm a big fan of Morricone but the fact that this is outdoors puts me off going tbh.

I agree about the acoustics. When he played in belfast the acoustics of the waterfront added to the performance. The subtle details of the choir and orchestra will be lost outside especially if it is windy.

Yep, here's another from the Belfast concert - I'm pretty sure that's a non-amplified oboe from 40metres, I don't know how they could do this outdoors.

If I have to experience Morricone outdoors, then it'll be in this place, the Roman Arena in Verona Italy - and top tickets are same price as Dublin

I've been rained out of concerts there before, but it'll be warmer than Dublin.

The Morricone concert that gets played on Sky Arts from time to time was performed live outdoors in Saint Mark's Square in Venice and was by all accounts an amazing live experience.

Does anyone know if this Dublin concert will be held in the courtyard in the Royal Hospital - which would be acoustically similar to St Mark's I'd imagine - or will it be out where Leonard Cohen played I wonder?

Hope your right but that concert would have been recorded using specialised equipment so it sounded great on tv, like glastonbury for instance.

There is no way you would hear the string section as you should when you are outdoors. It would be almost impossible to acoustically treat the kilmainham arena without it being covered on all sides.(ie indoors).

Saying that, it will be an incredible experience anyhow

    Hi Everyone...

I am looking for seats at this concert, the best I can get .... this is a must see as far as I am concerned ... I love his music! I would really appreciate your advice on how I can get tickets or a good seats as I guess the lines will be busy when they open on Ticketmaster on 3rd April!

    Many thanks!

Got two tickets this morning, that's the wedding anniversary sorted!

From the venue layout on the Ticketmaster site it looks like the concert will be held in the courtyard of the Royal Hospital. Here's hoping for fine weather come July :)

Hi guys! So excited to be seeing Ennio play, can't believe he's making the trip to little old Dublin! Just wondering if anyone has been to the venue before? I've got tickets in block A1 BB, 25 - 26 and I'm wondering what the view will be like? The seating plan is a bit difficult to interpret so I'm not exactly sure where I am sitting.. I gather maybe its the back of block A1 which doesn't seem too far back :D Do the rows go like AA - AZ and then start again at BA?

Not sure the layout of the place for a concert - I've got seats in A3, Row JJ so like you it would be great if someone could enlighten us!

Looking at the seating plan - there are 97 rows x 112 seats ~ 10,000 people. There's no way that many could fit in the courtyard as it's 60m x 60m.

It will be outside the hospital building, in the field to the west just like the (annual) Leonard Cohen concerts.

    AA-ZZ

    112 - - 1

I could care less about the view, the sound should be excellent from the cheap seats at the back

Was debating whether or not to go to this the last week or so because I'd be going alone. Didn't realise it would sell out so quick. Now I'm raging I didn't get a ticket!!
