Redirecting traffic to new domain. 301?

I recently combined two different wordpress blogs into one, and I need to redirect the posts from the old domain to the new one. All of the post names etc remain the same, so all I need to do is redirect the traffic from www.olddomain.com/postname to www.newdomain.com/postname etc

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I'm told a 301 is the way to go but I'm not quite sure how to configure it...
    Thanks :)

Add this line in the .htaccess file of the site you are redirecting..
    redirect 301 / http://www.yourdomain.com/

if you want to redirect a particular page on one website to another
    redirect 301 /relativeurlofthepage http://www.yourdomain.com/

    Hope that helps
