It's definitely watchable...and I watched both Football and Cricket the other day (as England got hammered by Netherland)... the quality effects the live sports more so than the movies...

There's a mountain of sh*te on XBMC to be fair.

Navi x is down until they get their new servers sorted apparently.

I just added the source again now but I can't get the add-on working for somr reason
when I go to get add-ons it's there and enabled but there's nothing there to install when I click on it

I followed this process and it worked fine

    Thanks for the mashup tip.

So I've installed the add-on, works fine.
Alot of the stuff (streams & live) are always buffering.
Is there settings that I may need to change?

Am using XBMC on a computer connected to a tele, wit 120MB UPC broadband.

    there's a setting for buffering
    I installed xunity
and then you can do it from xunity maintenance
    maybe there's a simpler way

Minix Neo 7 just arrived. Recommendations for setup? Flash latest Minix Firmware or go straight for a custom ROM? Install the Minix Version of XBMC, vanilla XBMC or some other flavour?

    Ben

Is their a need to root it or change it to a another ROM, I'm just using it out of the box and think it is grand.

you'll need Root for apps like Hola unblocker.
I rooted mine by installing a finless custom rom.
    Works a treat.

Is this the ROM you used? http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?4828-Tronsmart-MK908-Android-4-1-1-Finless-ROM-1-4

Also, does the Minix version of XBMC have any advantages over a vanilla install other than it comes with a load of add on's pre-installed?

    Ben

I couldn't get finless onto my MK908II, the computer doesn't pick it up in the software when it's plugged in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,567 ✭✭✭Nemeses2050

there's a video on Youtube by Somesupercooltech of freaktab about ROM's and how to install them on MiniX.

What is the correct Screen mode when pairing the Minix Neo 7 with a 50" Plasma TV? The 1080p options are 1920x1080p-50 or 1920x1080p-60

I really can't see any difference between them!!

The most stable for me is 1080P@24hz on my Samsung LED

Got a Minix X7 myself last weekend.

Loving it. It has replaced the PC that used to sit under my TV.

Not loving the remote so much though. How hard would it have been to put a play / pause / stop button on it.

I have a Logitech programmable remote and it has a profile for the Minix X7. Great I thought. So I put it on. Not so great. It only replicates the buttons on the controller so play / pause / stop don't work on it. It's not a major issue, it's just two or three clicks to pause a video rather than the usual one.

Has anybody got a work around for that?

I popped automateit onto the box to run XBMC on bootup. There's probably an easier way than that but it works fine for me.

I've popped Showbox & Yatse on my phone and set up Yatse for the XBMC on the Minix. Everybody who's seen that has been blown away by it.
