The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Martin St. Louis to a four-year, $22.5 million contract extension, keeping him in Tampa for the next five seasons.

The 35-year-old, who still had one year left on his contract, has been one of the team's most recognizable faces for the last decade, helping to lead them to a Stanley Cup in 2004.

The Quebec native had 29 goals and 65 assists for the Bolts last season.

St. Louis had a career-high 102 points with the Lightning in 2006-07.

Wow ....mixed emotions about this signing. Little man with big speed and bigger heart at 35 years of age. Something tells me that this may bite Yzerman in the ass in the very near future.
