My dogs - springer spainel 8years old and Jack russell terrier 2 years old.... they do poo a fair bit... dunno where it comes from.

Is it the food? I get the cheap stuff from maxizoo? "manufactured using our quality guidlines" is what they say

    http://www.maxizoo.ie/fitfun.html

Why is it €15 for a 15kg bag and some of the other stuff is around €70 for a 15kg bag?

Can someone reccommend a good quality food that wont break the bank... dont mind paying a bit more if its better for the dogs

The reason its cheap is because there is very little meat in it. That food has a high cereal content, which dogs cant digest very well so most of it comes out the other end. They have another brand there, granted its more expensive, but a friend of mine uses it and highly reccommends it. Its called High 5, has a high enough meat content and you would probably feed about half of it compared to the fit&fun food. Its 39.99 for 15kgs but should last you a good while. I use the 70euro stuff Real Nature and it is well worth it, but I've too big dogs so it does work out pretty expensive. Once they're fullygrown, I'll probably put them onto something else a little cheaper but I would never put them onto anything with less than 20% meat. You feed way less of the higher quality foods so it work out about the same costwise

If you are looking for foods that are good quality, but cheaper than the super expensive stuff, some good brands include:
    - Whites (http://www.whites-premium.ie/default.aspx)
    - Red Mills Leader (http://www.redmills.ie/ie/pet/products/leader/)
    - Best for my Dog (http://www.bestformydog.com/)

All of the above are around €45(ish) for a 15kg bag and are Irish companies. I have used Red Mills Leader and Best for my Dog in the past and both were very good for the price, and have heard great reports about Whites from several people (will probably try it myself in the future). Unfortunately, often with dog food you get what you pay for so spending a little more can make a big difference. However, you do use less of the higher quality foods so a big bag will last you longer than with a cheap food.
