If not to be then Cay Verde looks a worthy favourite, very impressive last time out but say he would prefer the ground to dry out a bit more (although has won on soft already)

3.05 Ascot: Princess Highway looks a nice e/w bet. Weld doesn't send over anything unless he feels like it has a good chance. The short priced favourite The Fugue looks the one to beat but I would also have a small e/w on Hazel Lavery if looking for an outsider to cause a surprise

3.45 Ascot: Rossom has nailed his colours to the mast with Saddlers Rock but I reckon the ground will not be right for him and I feel Fame and Glory is going to hammer the field!

5.00 Ascot: Starboard for me in this tricky race. Looks like the penny has finally dropped with this horse after beating the highly rated Expense Claim at Doncaster. Kept on really well that day and looks a tough individual

The other 2 races are a lottery and wouldn't touch them
Happy with that, gale force a deserved 2nd and princess showing us who the best filly this year is! Superstar!

Finally got around to watching Saddlers Rock's race and I stand by every word about him being a machine. He pulled like a train for the first mile and was keen throughout. Furthermore, they went an absolutely crawl which would have been totally against him as it didn't make it a test of stamina at all. Add in the rain coming was a negative (Murtagh said he didn't want rain last night) and to finish beaten by just over 0.5L is a tremendous performance. Clearly F&G had something wrong or simply didn't show up and I don't get why people are having a go at Spencer - nobody could have gotten him home to win.

Just watching the GC again and have to say the more i look at it the better Opinion Poll looks, i'm sure the crawl they went at the start helped none of them bar possibly F&G who has the speed and extra gear to quicken away there must have been something wrong with the horse or he just wasn't up for it on the day. The acceleration Opinion Poll showed was tremendous around the turn he really quickened well the two bumps could possibly have cost him the race as he seemed to duck away from Colour Vision over the last 100meters. Saddlers Rock does look a type to follow alright but of the two i still think Opinion Poll is the one i'd be backing.
