From this weeks Dundalk Argus newspaper. See the 'expert' advice with regard to Saorview Box and British channels.

The Wexford people had a 4 page spread last week. 1 of the registered retailers is selling a saorview approved phillex Free to air satellite receiver on his ad. And a trade body registered installer has a add on it saying he is saorview approved. Silly season has started.

And the article spread further confusion

Quote:
He urged councillors to spread the message that as of Monday, October 25th, there will be no TV signal on the old analogue analogue system.
Analogue switchoff is Wednesday, October 24th.

Who made the mistakes, the reporter or the digital outreach champion?

As to the piece "Level of Information available criticised", "there's none so deaf as those who will not hear".

Not guaranteed in some areas. The Mournes & Cooley hills can interfere with reception from Belfast. I get steady reception on UHF channel 26 (BBC4 etc). Muxes on chs 29 & 33 aren't great due to co-channel interference from 3 Rock in Dublin. Can't get any of the others.

The power boost from Divis should help in October, plus the channel frequency changes.

Not realy gaurnteed anywhere. But the artical states that uk channels will not be available and people must pay for expensive combo boxes, which is misleading

Yes. Wrong to say this. Should be stating that Freeview HD channels cannot be viewed on a Saorview box. Less than 3 months to go to ASO, these types of errors should not be happening.
