Looking for new wheels and need some guidance please.

Wheels will be used for road racing and triathlons and a bit of summer training (cause i know i wont always take them off the bike after a race like i should) - events up to IM distance. I have a choice between a 2009 set of zipps 404 tubs or a new set of mavic cosmic sls clinchers. Zipps are perfect and well maintained.

I know the 404 are a better wheel but given the bomb proof nature of the mavics, the age of the zipps and the fact that puncturing on tubs in a race and its really race over, im leaning towards the cosmics.

    Any advice?????

I would be going with clinchers, years ago I raced on tubs and the ride quality was excellent but the gluing on and the hassle if the race had limited support was enough to make me change

If you're going to save them for racing I'd go with tubs.

    they/them/theirs

I'd go with tubs and the zips
Mavic are just too heavy and if you get a puncture race is over anyway
