to be honest, by the time you shod that alfa with tyres and (maybe other jobs required) and get it tested, you'd pick up a 156 with test an all elesewhere for similar money, and less hassles.

By the time you would VRT it and get the NCT done it would be well over bangernomics budged.

Mazda 323f, NCT has a few months on it. €1050

A little bit over-priced maybe but looks to be in great condition.

Make sure the suspension is a1 as parts are pricey enough, all in all it's an awesomely reliable car.

It depends what you want to spend on tyres of course, but I've been looking very closely at 156s for a mate lately and there are very very few 'good' ones out there, (i.e. NCT, belts done, service history etc) for around €1000, so I'd say €500 (less maybe €50) is fair enough.

Of course depending on your mileage and the passage of time since the belts were last done, the belts on that particular 156 could be due again soon....

I hate that car almost as much as the CityRover and Suzuki Wagon R... The only thing decent about it maybe might be that it would be so slow you'd never get a speeding fine. I'd take a 2002 Focus Zetec over that any day...

Doesn't have to be a 1.4. I'd probably just take a 147 instead, anything is better than that sh1tbox.

Was just pointing out that the Zetec badging can be quite meaningless.

I agree, when I think 2002 Focus Zetec I think of a nice 3 door focus in black with nice wheels and nice interior. I like 'em..

Picked up a 99 Polo 1.0 today €450 - only on DD for 20mins and was nearby so I grabbed it, most of them go very quickly.
Will tidy it and use it - minimum tax/ins/fuel AND German

Not bangernomics but along the Zetec line.

A lad I know who sells a few cars reckons there is an unusual bias towards the Zetec badging, "she's Zetec too" and folks seem happy out.

    Mk3 golf 1.4 petrol nct 01 12

Tested, low miles, lots of work done recently. Plus kept local, could be worth a punt if you got below the 1000 mark..

A tad overpriced me thinks, the 1.4s don't have an anti roll bar either iirc, boats to drive.
