Not looking for lifelong friends (though if that happened it'd be great), but just people around my age (19) to go socialising with.....have the craic with etc...it's so hard to meet people in Dublin and it's a shame cause I love going out in the city but i dont know anybody around here. Anyone got any ideas? Would just love to go out on a Saturday night with a bunch of my mates my own age and dance my feet off and have some fun. I've just moved over to dublin from london and none of my friends live over here so i have to make some new ones i didnt know it was so hard to find people to go out in town with has anyone got any ideas?
    thanks.

Outside the GPO every Saturday Night a gathering takes place to head to one of the city nightclubs. 9.30pm Sharp outside GPO, O'Connell Street.

    Good luck

Always plenty of boards meet ups, keep an eye out as they are ususally great craic, with a gret mix of people at them. The After hours forum has a meet on the 20th if you're interested.

That's right. They didn't have it this week with the Ireland match on against Bulgaria. Most of them were away.

I've found it hard to meet new people here too. I moved over from London 18 months ago. I'm 30 and a graphic designer. I've found that a lot of people that have always lived here like to keep themselves to themselves and are still all friendly with old school friends etc.

    Hey,

I agree, I am living in Dublin 6 years now and have met a handful of new people but only through work.
My mission is to do as many new things as possible but even doing this, people do want to keep to themselves and are reluctant at my age to make new friends, I am only 29 but at this stage people have their partners or are getting engaged and have no intertest.

If there are any ideas, let me know.
Without sounding mean, I have been to a few things where there are a few odd people. I just want to have a laugh with like minded people!
I have a large group of couple friends but sometimes you just want to talk to someone who is on the same page as you

    Does this actually happen?

Dublin's a tough city for meeting people outside of work. Maybe all big cities are like that, but in Dublin people really seem to want to keep to themselves.

I would very much doubt it, i think hes pulling yer leg

from my experience the best place to make friends i would think are

    1) house sharing, just pick nice sociable people to live with.
    2) People you work with

meetup.com is good but depends on what age you are,
i been to a few and the majority of people there are 30+

theres also this site http://www.newtotown.ie/forum/housemate-social-friendship/ but i dont know how many people actually meet up from it.

there also sports clubs, obviously team sports would probally be best.

This seems to be a busy group: New and Not So New in Dublin. Then there's the various boards.ie meet ups.
