just wondering if anyone has been in the same position of having let their Vhi cover lapse (and needing to renew)
Is their any reason to sign up again with them as against considering one of their competitors?
Do they treat tou as an entirely new customer? Even if you have been with them for quite a long period of time previously?

I was on my parents policy from when I was born until I was 28 years old with VHI! My dad eventually cut me off it (Was about time too, tbh!) so whenI called them for a quote they didnt take into consideration the fact I was with them for 28 years! Therefore I am now with Quinn, was over €15 a month cheaper for plan b! :)

nah they don't really care if your with them 1 year or 10, if another company is offering you cheaper cover and its the same type of cover then jump ship.

Mrs Cabaal saved over 200e last month by switching from VHI and has the exact same cover, she's been with them years

Because your cover has lapsed for more than 13 weeks, you will need to reserve waiting periods, ie, new medical conditions unless due to accident or injury will not be covered for 6 months and pre existing conditions for 5 years. Try calling the insurers to see if any will waive initial waiting periods.
