00 toyota avensis 1.6 keeps failing on back brakes

    My toyota avensis keeps failing on imbalance nearside 1.530kn offside0.940 imbalance 39% rear brakes I put on new shoes on and cylinder in offside. .any help would be great..thanks

    Maybe try new on both sides. Would assume new on one side, and exsisting on other side would cause further imbalance.

    On moving the thread, PM one of the mods to do it for ya..

    Is it drum or disc?

    May need new lines and drum or discs.

    Ask mod to move.

    look along the top of the page and go into Rec box, this will take you into motors. let me know how you get on.

    Its drums and ive put the new cylinder on the right and its still lower than the left side..

    How's the handbrake print out ?

    Maybe a internal flexi pipe collapse if handbrake is ok.

    Very common problem with these cars. Happened to my dads car several times with several mechanics. Bring it to a garage with the gear to test the balance. Otherwise you'll be doing the nct a few times! Trust me!
