Hey how long did it take people to install Mango? I'm on an Omnia 7 (Meteor) and it has been stuck on step 6 for about 20 minutes now - what should I do?

Edit: In the end I had to press cancel and had to reboot the phone. Now it tells me it has lost all data since the last update and needs to restore to that point (August) :-(

ah you should have let it continue, take about 40/50 mins at least to install!!

It just depends on your internet connection. Mine didn't take anywhere near that long, but i have a fast line.

It took a good bit to install the update on my Optimus 7 (UPC 30mb) . Running mango now with no issues.

Oh and touch boards works properly now

You should have just let it go. Part 6 is always a long one. Its doing something in the background. I remember for beta 2 for me it was rebooting for ages.

I just let it go and it eventually rebooted.

Ye glad I know now - I just didn't believe an update would take that long as no one on this thread seemed to mention it.

I don't think I will be using the voice search on bing too often

I said "boards.ie" and somehow it interpreted my voice as saying "porn star .ie"

Yeah it couldn't find Boards for me either, but a few others worked like Dublin bus, vodafone, Irish rail and pandora.

Not too bad imo.

my phone fell on the floor mid update. The battery came out.

Now I get the picture of the laptop with the cable running to the phone and the arrow with the red circle and line.

Nothing else. Zune won't detect it and turning the phone on and off makes no difference. Any ideas?

Google Hard reset for your phone. Likely the process is holding down Windows key and Volume etc. Hopefully it will give you the option to reset to factory default.

I had left the Optimus 7 instructions but then realised there are more WP7 models than just my phone :P Duh

I updated to Mango last night am I am very impressed. The OS runs much faster on my HD7 than 7.0 and is much faster than Gingerbread on the Galaxy S. IE9 is very good and is a lot better than the Android browser.

I have always supported Microsoft with their mobile strategy and have had a number of Windows phones over the years (some of which are probably not worth remembering

). WP 7.5 should finally give them a chance over the overly-restricted Apple products and the "not quite finished" Android products

Mango is great but unfortunately I've lost my chevron unlock in the update so I'm rolling back to NoDo. Shame, as it really works well, but until Chevron unlock is officially released I can't run my own apps.

I changed the Locality of the Phone to US, i got bing navigation and i think the Speech Recognition works better.

I use the Speech Recognition to text back people and call people when im driving. Everyone i showed this to was blowed of their heads how a phone could do so

Press and Hold the Windows Button. Call out who would you like to call or text. If ya text i think as long as you speak clearly, no background noises (like open window seems to feck it up) I think it works perfect.

Google has their speech to text but its not very usefull since it doesnt allow what windows phone 7 does.

My phone (Samsung Omnia on Meteor) is updating right now without any hacks. I didn't get any notification on the phone itself but Zune picked up the update anyway.

After restoring last night my Omnia 7 has forgotten all the numbers in my contacts list (I had them on my Gmail but also manually entered on phone in some cases). It says it has synced fine with all my email and Facebook accounts so what has gone wrong??? It had restored to a point in August btw

And failed because the driver didn't install

Every update I've done on my WP7 phone has failed: the update search in Zune usually fails the first 5-6 times and then the update fails because of device driver fails to install so I have to retry or hack at it until it works. It's not overly confidence inspiring and it's worth pointing out that I *never* had any problems updating my iPodTouch.

What OS are you using? I know previously some people had trouble in XP. Think a few had some in Vista too. Windows 7 seems to do the trick perfect.

Try this, its a patch for omnia drivers. Samsung phones always have problems with drivers for some reasons. So sammy released a driver update for it

Just download. Plug in your phone. And let it update it

This was meant to be fixed when NoDo was rolling out. But some glitches might be left.

In my office which has a decent broadband connection. Phone upgraded in about 20 mins. It now seems to be upgrading again but is on step 7 for the past 2 hours or so. Time to try again ?

Worked after a few tries. Update took nearly an hour to install.

Is there anywhere I can see a full list of updates/ changes in Mango?

Nevermind, I installed Mango successfully and it seems to have fixed all of that. I really love mango so far - everything seems even faster than ever! However, on my Omnia 7 the 'daily briefing' app hasn't been updated - it doesn't show any live tile like it was supposed to.

Added the ability to enable WiFi and mobile data state on start screen pinned tiles.

Handier than going into settings all the time.

I have an LG Optimus 7 which I updated to Mango. I was hoping that the update would fix the problem of not being able to send and receive MMS messages. Is the only way of fixing that to flash my phone with the Euro Open Firmware? If I have to does that mean I have to reinstall the updates?

Don't suppose anyone is having trouble accessing the touch.boards.ie site?
I'm getting "The requested item could not be loaded! (Status Code:400)"
It seems like it's trying to download a file called ads.xhtml which is causing the issue.
