so bullying would have to be in different sections,i think its better to merge all and have a 'bullying forum',and then subcategories..

First we will have to get the forum, I like the idea of sub-forums. In the meantime the request needs posters to post +1 otherwise your support will not count. Hope you can see your way to give it a +1

Bullying is such a complex problem, and its various guises are all so different, that I don't believe one all-encompassing forum could adequately deal with it.-1 from me.
Yes the subject is very serious and complex and it needs transparency and easy access by those affected. For many victims, I feel just the knowledge that their plight is highlighted in a separate forum I'm sure would be of some comfort and reassurance.

That idea is quite ridiculous. I went through years of bullying when I was younger. Having a forum somewhere on some website would have been absolutely no consolation at all to me at the time. Things like that pale into insignificance when you're actually dealing with the problem on a daily basis.

Yes, of course there should be somewhere for people to go when they need to talk about the problem. However, as I outlined above, such facilities are already here.

Xenophile, I have asked you twice now why you chose to use the quote you did to support your request, knowing that it would be interpreted as a post from a Boards mod when it is nothing of the sort. You were quite happy to use it disingenuously to suggest that the admins on Boards do nothing to tackle bullying and now it's quite clear that you are deliberately avoiding answering my questions.

I don't believe that what I'm asking is unreasonable so I'm going to ask you for a third and final time. Should you fail to respond with a satisfactory answer I will be left with no other option but to ban you from this forum.

Sometimes being a Bully is for someones own good, sometimes it's not. There's so many different types of bullying it would be a pandora's box of a forum.

I'll give it a +1 as long as it's all about bullying the positives/negatives and there's no bullying allowed.

I'd bit somewhat supportive of this. As other posters pointed out there are other forums that can deal with the subject of bullying. But given the nature of the subject, a dedicated forum would allow those who have been subject to it or else wish to spot the signs in others to congregate. The thread of bullying in society would stretch from playground, work to retirement home so unfortunately the numbers would be present as a forum to make it viable.

Strange suggestion. If the intent of the discussion forum for bulling is to discuss bullying, I'd imagine the logical areas would be as per Insect Overlord's point. Why would you centralise such a focussed discussion? Or as the OP suggests with his quote from a random forum on the internet, is this to discuss trolling on boards?

Either way, I'd see a great potential for trolls and bullies to use the forum as fodder, so it doesn't make sense.

But the OP isn't being clear in what he would like, I have no idea if he wants a discussion forum or a name/shame forum.

Xenophile has had a week to explain himself, and despite having been online on numerous occasions since my last post, it is quite clear that he has no intention of answering the question put to him. Consequently he is now permabanned from this forum.

I completely agree with Insect Overlord here. I have been on the receiving end of bullying from people who should know better to say the least, in the not too distant past and tbh I just cannot see how a dedicated forum would be of benefit.
Their are avenues, some of which IO has quoted here that I would agree with that would assist people, but not a dedicated forum on boards though.

Are there any positives to bullying?

I tend to agree with a previous poster, the OP's approach is, to say the least arrogant, and this seems to me to be a close relative of bullying.

-1 from me.

The topic is covered in a whole host of other fora which IMO are better suited to discussing the issue such as Personal Issues, Work Problems, etc.

I don't think it'd be a good idea to centralise the topic in one place, as the different types of bullying are so diverse.
