Water pump short cycling

    Hi,

over the last week or so our cold water pump has started short cycling. Up to this point if a cold tap was turned on/shower ran the pump would stay on continuously until tap/shower was closed then it would shut off. Now the pump is kicking in and out every 5 seconds or so resulting in a pulsing water pressure.

Based on some other threads I found and checked the pressure on the pump 'tyre valve' (reading 3 bar), and a pressure vessel connected on a pipe coming from the pump (around 2 bar).

Any suggestions on if these pressures seem reasonable and anything else I can check, or does it sound like a pump issue.

Did you switch off the pump and leave your cold tap to run off before checking the expansion vessel?

Vessels probably low. As sed turn off the pump and run the tap before checking pressure of the vessel. If its a 3 bar pump then 2-2.5 bar in the vessel
