They really were everywhere this year, from Miley Cyrus to Anaconda to Kim Kardasian to that fat chick from youtube- even serious news outlets were drawn to making comment on the various controversies and internet phenomenons. Do any armchair sociologists care to speculate on the significance of this modern cultural motif?
