    Wednesday 23rd May

Ugh woke up this morning after 10 hours sleep with full blown muthaf*ckin' aids. Felt like death. I wasn't going to go training until Ste calling me yella and the good weather changed my mind. I'm happy I did in the end though. Felt good to sweat it out of me. Which I did because ECB was a godamn sauna this evening. On the plus side my back is fine now. Was only a niggle really in the end.

    Power Snatch
    2x3@40kg
    2x3@50kg
    2x3@60kg
    2x2@65kg
    2x1@70kg

    Back Squat
    2x5@60kg
    2x5@70kg
    2x5@80kg
    2x5@90kg

    Bench
    5@40kg
    3@60kg
    3@70kg
    3x2@80kg
    Max reps @ 60kg, 15 reps

Not too weak from lack of training lately. Should be good to go Monday.

The split clean was v.weird at first I tried a few deep catches but that's just not gonna work. I can't maintain my upper back position if I do that. They were alright when I power splitted. I'll be able to lift more than I powerclean alright but not by any huge amount. I'll see how it goes anyway from next week when I get some instruction on them.

F*ck that sh*t they were savage tonight. I think it was just the first time doing them they felt awful. The split snatch was the same. I was catching them around parallel or just above tonight and no loss of upper back. Was godamn hard standing up with them though so I'm back to my original problem of my legs being too godamn weak. I didn't even have to think about the pull it was so easy getting it to the required height to get under it.

Pause front squats because of Klokov and that fact I won't be doing them in new program. There is no real point since they are as assistance exercise for lifts that I don't do anymore. Back squats for general strength and split squats for specificity.

Finished up with a little superset. I think I may have set a world record. I was going to set some more but I was tired and went home.

    New program from Monday.

Competing for Irelands sweatiest man tonight. The gym wasn't quite as hot as last week but I wasn't doing a full program then.

Solid ass session though! First time splitting since nationals and I was way more solid in the split landing and recovery than I was then. Stuck the 74kg. It's really starting to sink in now I think. Stuck the 95kg on the powerclean too. I started to run out of steam a bit by the pulls so had to grit my teeth a bit to get through them and finish up.

    Friday 1st June

    Split Snatch
    2x3@40kg
    2x3@50kg
    2x3@63kg
    2x2@67kg
    1@70kg
    1@74kg
    3x3@63kg

    Split Clean & Jerk
    1 clean + 3 jerks
    2@70kg
    2@75kg
    2@80kg
    2@85kg
    2@90kg

    Back Squat
    5@60kg
    5@80kg
    5@90kg
    5@100kg worst squat set ever
5@102kg 2kg pb correction worst squat set ever

    Bulgarian Squats
    6 @ right leg, 3@ left leg attempted 3x6@40kg
    legs say no

    DB press @ 22kg
    DB row @ 40kg
    used straps, kroc'in
    5x5

    Body Row
3x6 meant to be 8 reps but was missing full rom at the end

I was bollixed coming into this. Had broken sleep the night before and I'm just bollixed in general from starting the new program this week. Extreme trap doms awoke when I started with 40kg on the bar tonight. I continued anyway I think the rhabdo in my traps has rhabdo now. Better check the urine for brown the next 24 hours.

I power clean splitted because my legs were dead and I couldn't handle catching them low. My squats were awful then and I couldn't even keep fully upright on the 60kg warmups. Everything was fatigued. I had planned 104kg and 105kg attempts to follow during the day but they were too ugly to keep going.

Legs had nothing for the Bulgarians so I just dropped the weight and threw in the towel.

Despite the moaning training is going really well at the moment. I need another week or so to adjust to the new program and the fact I'm pushing the weights more than I have in a long while. My split snatch has improved a ton since Nationals just out of the blue. A big pb should be coming up on that soon.

    Wednesday 6th June

Heavy week, well it was meant to be but alas..

Stag flu. Ugh. I also hurt my left wrist in a show of solidarity with supposedly over the weekend. I thought I'd get away with it but no dice on the overhead work tonight.

    Split Squat
    4x5@40kg

    Powerclean
    3@60kg
    3@70kg
    2x2@80kg
    2x2@85kg
    2x1@92kg
    2x1@95kg

    Split Clean
    2x3@70kg
    2x3@80kg
    2x3@83kg
    2x3@86kg

    Back Squat
    5@60kg
    3@80kg
    2@90kg
    2@100kg
    2@105kg
    2@110kg failed 2nd rep *sigh*

    Alternating Lunge @ 50kg
    RDL @ 80kg

    3x6

Not too bad apart from the squats. The superset at the end was bloody cardio. That's what I get for trying to save time! curses.

Wrist thing isn't too bad but dunno If I'll manage overhead work on Friday. I'm pretty certain it'll be fine by Monday.

    Friday 8th June

Argh stupid wrist is worse than it was Wednesday. I shouldn't have done the cleans. Pulls and squats tonight.

    Snatch Pull
    5@40kg
    2x3@60kg
    2x3@70kg
    2x3@80kg
    2x3@90kg

    Clean Pull
    2x3@100kg
    2x3@110kg

    Alternating Lunge
    4@50kg
2x4@56kg switched to db's, holding barbell in front rack aggravating wrist

    Bulgarian Squats
    3x8@40kg

    DB row
4x5@42kg couldn't find the 40, choice of 38 or 42, always round up

    Body Row
3x8 getting better at these, but still terrible

Looking like I'll have to train around the wrist all next week as well. I'm such a spanner. Reminds me of when I couldn't play gaa for 2 months when I was 17 because I ****ed my ankle while drunk. 10+ years later and I'm still an idiot.

If you're very good, rest and ice it, then you might not have to zumba.

You're gonna go get wrecked and fall on it again though. You can't seem to help yourself. You shall be zumba queen!

    Smut!

    Saturday 9th June

I wasn't going to train but I stretched in the morning and had a bit of spring to my step that I had to get rid of.

    Box Jumps
    triples up to 37"
    5x1@40"

    Back Squat
    5@60kg
    3@70kg
    3@80kg
    3@90kg
    3@100kg

    GHR
    2x0.75 reps me bloody hamstrings
    4x6@thickest band in the place

    Right hand shtuff

    KB Snatch
    1.5 pood x lots & lots

    KB C&J
    1.5 pood x lots & lots

    Press
    5x5@1.5 pood

Box jumps are fun I haven't done them in ages. Squats were heavy and I wasn't in the mood for that kind of thing today so I threw in the towel after 100kg.

GHR, bloody hell. Weightlifters have no hamstrings. Well I have no hamstrings at least. Hard, they are.

F*cking about with kettlebells. The first step towards zumba.
