OMG! Titanic is like, sumthing wat actually happened? Is it not just a movie?!

I still find it unreal that they were so convinced the ship was 'unsinkable' that there weren't enough lifeboats left for around 1,000 people. Baffling!

I only just learned about the SS Californian today. Could they seriously have saved the passengers?! That is unreal. They must have felt pretty bad afterwards if that is the case.

Yeah it really makes you think! A few extra life boats could have done wonders. There's more to it than what has been told. I don't think it's a conspiracy or anything but somethings just don't add up especially with the SS Californian.

I remember talking to a Titanic researcher/expert who came and spoke briefly at an event we went to on a school tour. I could listen to him all day, the things he spoke about were mind blowing.

Titanic was never called unsinkable by it's owners/builders/etc. That was a name given to it after the sinking.

The reason they didn't have more lifeboats was because basically they didn't legally need anymore (people still do similar today remember!) and didn't expect the ship to sink so soon and for it to happen so quickly.
I know- it's easy to have 20/20 hindsight, it just baffles me that 'only enough lifeboats for around half the passengers' was legally acceptable!

The Titanic could hold 64 lifeboats and they ended up with only 20. They originally planned to have 48 lifeboats but the chief designer Alexander Carlisle thought it made the decks looked cluttered so they dropped 28 lifeboats! Totally understandable that they thought it wasn't going to sink/sink as fast as it did but to take off 28 lifeboats to make it look pretty is sad in a way but it's in the past and can't do anything about in now! It's frustrating that the design was put before safety though!

    Time for tea

I assume they didn't have inflatable life rafts then, no? :o

Would have been handy to have had a lilo on board with you if you were a male passenger! :p

Feel like I'm harping on a bit but, Just going to say changing your diet works far better than adding in some exercise.

I'd love to do spin classes. I want thighs of steel!

I'd rather achieve my thighs of steel sitting on my ass watching TV and eating cake though.. life's a bitch! :pac:

I openly admit to being a foodie. I love food. I love making food. I love eatting food but these days, I barely taste it anymore. I just shovel it in mindlessly like a filthy animal.
    Enough's enough.
If I have to rob a bank to pay for gym membership, I'll do it.

At least exercise is a good motivational tool for eating better. You're unlikely to come out of the gym after a work out, feeling all good and healthy and crave a cheese-burger.

There's loads you can do at home without joining the gym. There was a website with loads of home workouts that used no or minimal equiptment that was great, but I can't remember it anymore, going to have to search for it again. Found it!

Also I love food too, I've been loving finding out what certain foods do for you and to you and altering my diet from that, I've been eating so many different things now it's great, I try to eat something I've never tried every week, sometimes it's an ingredient in something, sometimes it's an entirely new recipe.

I hope that site helps you get to where you want to be.

I have to go by chippers and a chinese on my way home, god sometimes I legged it by them holding my breath just so I'd be less tempted to go in!

    Daw :D

I just got thanked for working late on friday by being entered into a draw to win some cash at work.

I now have 4 entries in it. Yeah!

Slightly embarrassing that it flashed up on my boss' screen during a team meeting, but I'll get over that.

*fingers crossed I'll win some cash*

In fairness I think she's just very interested in nutrition, I can be a bit of a nutrition nerd too so I get it :D

Another study day today, this time last year I was propping myself up on sugar and discount energy drinks. This time I'm loading up on protein and brain food, and I have Easter eggs in the house that I don't even want to eat... I've changed man.

The Pottermore website is addictive! Finally got sorted in to Hufflepuff. Meh...as long as it wasn't Slytherin! I like the way it's sorted, it's hard to swing it so that you can get in to the house that you want to be in!

Now I must forget the website exists for the next few weeks while I try to study!!!
