Yeah, I always remembered the Battaglins from them days, and I even seen SR's Battaglin displayed in Arnotts! (Lovely Delta brakes....)
For me, a Battaglin was always the way to go! I'd love to build a replica Battaglin from '87 based on the Carrera colours etc, but I think the Mrs would go mad if a fifth bike appeared in the gaff!!!!

Stuck all the above real photos onto the wiki. Dunno if people want to stick with the thread or just add them to the wiki. Maybe post images in individual threads, which can then be added to wiki page. Discussion of the bike is done on the posted thread which then falls off the bottom of the page after a while ?

Lovely machine! does this mean you are flogging the Neutrons for a song?
PS, what brakes are you running? Are they pre-skeletons?
also, the white tape looks good with the ergos, nice clean front end!

Still riding the neutrons will never give them up love those wheels im Running skeletons but im changing to Zero gravity brakes ordered them this morning.Time Tape really comfortable its thick which i love.

My new Van Nicholas Amazon:

Components are from my ex-Trek 5000, transferred by David in Joe Daly's Dundrum, who did a great job on it. Plan is for this bike to be a fast tourer; have a lightweight rack on order and it has acres of clearance for wider tyres and mudguards. For touring I would plan on changing the wheels also, probably for Open Pro on Ultegra. It rides like a dream, better than any bike I've been on before! The titanium frame is super-comfy, beats out carbon I reckon.

you dont cycle with the steerer tube like that?? thats dangerous:eek:

Thanks Kona! Van Nicholas indeed used to be Airborne. There are spacers on top of the stem, the top cap is well clamped down- I think that's OK? Don't think over/under distance matters as long as there are spacers? I may well get it cut though, fits great and can't imagine wanting the bars higher (I can always get a new fork if I get older ;-)

I think it could be the danger of impaling yourself on the top part of the stem, but I'm not 100% sure!
