Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Max weight on C licence?

    Trying to find a site that details the max weight/axel restrictions on a C licence but all I'm finding is that a C licence allows driving in vehicle with a GVW over 3500kg.

    Anyone know of somewhere that has these details? Thanks.

    There isnt one for the licence, the max gross weight would be on the vehicle..

    Are you certain on that Corkie? For some reason I had about 40 tons and 6 axel in my head but not sure.

    Yes once its a rigid truck it dont matter, obviously if the vehicle is not designed for use here thats a different story.

    Are you going driving something that big??. I have only seen 1 five axle rigid..

    There is no weight limit attached to the licence but, as has been said, the vehicle would have to meet requirements under Construction and Use Regulations. Excessively heavy/oversized loads would also have to meet extra requirements such as escorts/signage and meet any differing requirements in each Co Council area.

    A lot of the big heavy haulage companies would have them as tractor units etc.
