Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hi folks hoping to get some advice from people...

    Moving to Dubai next month and just wondering about what to take with me.

    I know the weather there is fab but is there need to bring coats and boots over incase it rains?!!! Also wondering how much of my jeans collection to leave behind, probably not worn too much over there in such heat?

    I would bring some shirts, t-shirts, shorts, some pants, a suit if you have one, your laptop, your phone, sunglasses; and get everything else once you get here. Travel as light as possible. Don't bother with books or DVDs or loads of jewelry. I brought around 15kg of stuff when i moved here.

    Bring some jeans (very commonly worn here). No need for boots or a coat at all (only a hoodie for winter). Some runners if you have them. Get everything else here.

    It is very hot but you will not be in the heat for very long generally speaking. Indoor places are kept cool and you will not want to linger in the heat.
