I hope Alonso wins the championship this year. If he can keep up this current momentum he is certainly is in with a good chance to do so.

You could be right but I do feel Luck is on his side at the moment.

A lot of mention of "luck" in this thread, I believe you make your own luck. And can we finally stop with this "What he's doing with a rubbish car is amazing" stuff, the car is clearly quick. Whatever problems they were having with it preseason are long gone.

There was luck involved up to this point and indeed misfortune. I agree that you make your own luck, most of the time anyway.
Good point that the car is now fast, otherwise RB would have caught him last Sunday.

Whatever good fortune Alonso has had this season, completely pales in comparison to the past luck of a certain finger waving brat. Free tyre changes under red flags, constant safety car pitstop advantages, free front wings from your team mates car...the list goes on.

I don't feel Alonso has had any bizarre run of luck this season, good fortune in some cases...but the faster cars still can't catch him & thats how you know he's the real deal.

I got that feeling last year with Webber.

The blown diff let SEB drive the car faster in corners, exceeding the grip levels that Webbers brain thought was permissable.

Once Seb was in front he had a cooler car, cooler tyres etc.
15 poles last year, get the start right and F**K off into the distance.
how many this year?

I want a new champ, Webber or Grosjean will do. Still 225 points up for grabs, anything can happen.

The race was Ok. Disappointed for MS. The saubers are some race car. They have had great results from the back of the grid this year.

Nothing else stood out about the race, is it a worthy track?

Sauber have a very good car this year. I think if they can sort out qualifying they can score alot more points. Car is good enough to get points in every race.

I don't think either Vettel or Button would have caught up to him even if there were no backmarkers in the way. Alonso kept pushing in the first sector to keep them out of the DRS zone. We'll see if he open the 34 point gap up even further
