    True :)

Binocular will probably go off at 9/2 though.

The horse that was 2nd to Binocular (Khyber Kim) was beaten 18l by HF and then finished 40l+ behind Big Bucks in a stayers. 3rd Zayner is now chasing.

4th Celestial Halo was 12l behind Binocular in the Champion Hurdle and is probably a similar distance behind him now. I certainly think Celestial Halo has gone backwards since the 2010 Champion Hurdle.

5th Starluck is now a dual chase and hurdler.

6th Solwhit has been beaten on a number of occasions by HF.

    7th Merdermit is now chasing.
Spot on as AP has said he thinks Binocular won a poor Champion Hurdle and Frank Berry said the same.

You're right it is a matter of opinion.

I appreciate that I'm probably bias towards HF - I love the horse.

I hope in time HF will be as good as Istabraq on ratings.

The way I see it Binocular has to run a career best to beat HF tomorrow, whereas HF doesn't have to run a career best to beat Binocular.

On another note HF does effectively have a pacemaker in the field.

Let just hope both horses run their race tomorrow and whoever wins will be a proper winner.

i know i might be exagerating and i know theres only 3lbs on the ratings officially but i just think he has way more in hand than that cosidering the opposition just my view but i never rated binocular at his best and hes not going to improve now and from talking to a couple of people in mullins they think hes going there at least 25% better this year and its a much weaker race.btw they really fancy allee garde in the 4 miler on wednesday.

It could well turn out to be a stronger race.

As sting says the fact that none of last years field even bothered staying two mile hurdling says a lot.

Binocular is a former champion and looked back to his electric best lto.
Zarkandar is unbeaten and the form of last years Triumph is solid.
Rock On Ruby and Oscars Well are also capable of improvement.

11/4 last year, perhaps evens this year.

I think 4/6 is poor value. He is the best horse in the race.I think Henderson and co were surprised by Binoculars last run,Zarkandar may well be alot better than 160[think he will be the new Big Bucks in time],Oscars Well has his ground for first time in ages and has a hugh turn of foot,Kalann looks outclassed but will stick 5e e/w at 100/1 as it will love the ground.I can see three or four horses neck and neck up to line.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,244 ✭✭✭Juwwi

But he's not 4/6 anywhere he's 10/11 with PP and at worst 4/5.

so basically your saying at 4/6 he's bad value but at 1/1 he's worth a bet ?

    Binocular
Can't believe I'm going to miss this race, will have to sky plus it and hope it is as good as it looks on paper,

Loads of horses I have the troublesome emotional ties with :) and many that have won me money,

hard to look past Hurricane Fly for me, but not far behind him I'd have Zarkandar.

1.85 to lay. Apparently they're guaranteeing to lay any bet to win 10k sterling at the festival. Nice arb if you've a big bank!

If you've a bank that big then you can take the risk on him at evens :pac:

what price do ye think the fly will go off at tomorrow- think there is great value in backing bino w/o the fly @ 5/2- good hege if heavily invested.

    Other (please specify)
Hurricane fly 9/4 to win by more than 3 and 1/4 lengths
Sounds like he should win by that of he's goin to win

You really have to love them!

He's going to go evens everywhere by the looks of it.

The evens with Paddy Power is BOG as well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,244 ✭✭✭Juwwi

Powers going 1/1 Sprinter Sacre aswell they must be desperate to take money on him.
I'd say powers will take more money on the arkle this year than they will on the grand national.

The question now is how much further than evens is he going to go out?

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 4,991 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shane732

    Zarkandar
    Hills and Coral gone evens.

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 4,991 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shane732

    Zarkandar
Wow the evens really didn't last long.... Paddy Power gone odds on now.

Only William Hill and Stan James standing it up at evens.

They've probably taken a disproportionate amount on Al Ferof etc to date though.

I'd say they'll be keeping most of it, they must have taken multiples more than the other firms on the field.

Great race. Binocular wasn't good enough, looked for a few strides he was. I'd be more disappointed if I backed Fly

Clutching at straws here but the clip Overturn went could have caught out the top two in the betting.

    It was an insane pace.

Sure Ruby looked happy out on HF for most of it.

Thought he was beaten at the top of the hill. I pity AP in following the wrong horse.

Great ride from the first two.

Zarkandar the horse to take out of it for me.
