Let us know when you view it, please. If not, i go there....or not. I don't know really but for 1500 it is worth a look. Hope you buy it, so i won't have to think again about this car...

The ad is gone. I believe someone bought it. Good for me.

only for the remainder of the current tax disc.
you cant renew at the PSV rates without a current PSV suitability test certificate, and you cant get one of those with a registered taxi/hackney/limo plate associated to that car.

Can i drive it privately with no problems? If so, then this tax paid is worth it. If not, then it is like untaxed really.

    Nope, not legally.

    Indeed.

    Indeed.

For me it is like a deal breaker, if you get 2-2.5 engine with some tax left. After some research (donedeal etc) i noticed that some/most of these cars come with psv tax, that is worthless to me.

For anyone in my position, you can check tax rates at motortax.ie using registration number. This clears things up.

Anyone brave enough to take this on as a daily? No NCT remember, and piddling tax. All you have to do is keep it running, and tightrope that fine line between douchebag and trainspotter. :)

Wouldn't ya love to just take it to the shops? Last time I went to IKEA a crowd around my age pulled in alongside me in a 6l Bentley around the same vintage. I was mad jealous, and incredibly impressed. :)

    Huh?
It has been off the road for a least 6 months, if you were to believe the insurance cert in the window.
    Out of NCT since Jan.
    Hasn't been taxed since 2010.
The bonnet looks out of line with teh wing which would indicate a shunt.
And, are those jump leads with diagnositc equipment in the passanger floorwell?
Let alone it being over priced.
    Nah, sorry not for me.

I said have a look, never said you had to buy it. It's a facelift 156 with the right spec and V6 for €1900 asking. :)

The bonnet could just be open you know, hence the jump leads . It's hardly overpriced either. I just thought it might be worth having a look at see what's what, maybe the owner couldn't afford the tax hence it being off the road.

Regardless I wouldn't jump to conclusions too early about as rare a car as that.

Well maybe so - as you correctly pointed out, there could be multiple reasons the car was off the road.
However, to me, its just not my cup of tea and in effect makes it bad value to me.
TBH, I didn't realise the rarity of that car, but like I said, not my bag. :)

What makes it value to me is that in '04 the list price of that car would have been nearing 40k I think. Now you'd get it for €1500.

However you do have a valid point it could be w@nked be it also could be a bargain, that's why I thought it was worth a look anyway. :)

I used to get very close to 55mpg from a non intercooled Rover 400 diesel with 4 adults in it on a Cork to Tip return (60mph zones mainly), I reckon that the 70mpg claim might not be too far off the truth on a non motorway run.

Obviously it's not a mixed driving average :)

Definately not a looker but cheap as chips and plenty of NCT and tax left on her. If its the Isuzu engine in it (most of the 1.7 TD's would be I believe) they are renowned for being bulletproof.
