HELP! Dutch Police Check (VOG)

Hello,

I am applying for a Canadian visa and as I have lived in Utrecht for 10 months I need to provide a Dutch Police Check (VOG)

Has anyone had to do this before?

It seems quite complicated from the links I've come across online.

I only have a certain timeframe to submit my application and I'm beginning to panic about getting this done in time.

Any help is much appreciated,

Hi there,

Not sure if you've read the info at this link but it seems fairly straightforward, you'll need to go the Gemeente office in Utrecht:

According to justis.nl it normally takes 10 days.

You can apply at your local City Hall or online.

Thank you both,

However, I don't live in the Netherlands anymore and so I can not apply in person. Applying online is only an option for people being sponsored by their employer.

I know it seems straightforward on the website, but it is actually quite a headache!

If you're living abroad you can authorise someone to apply on your behalf in NL, is that an option?

Edit: Also, it looks like you can apply online directly to the Gemeente Utrecht if you have a DigiD.

Were you registered with the Gemeente when you lived there, will they have your details in the system?
