Hiiii,
Long time lurker, first time poster here. In fact the reason I joined boards a few years ago was because of this forum! ![]() Anyway, I'm very intrigued and I absolutely LOVE drama. Not even just acting (though, that's fab) but I love running around behind the scenes and the rush of a performance night. ![]() However, since I stopped being involved in drama (around 1-2 years ago) my confidence has been completely knocked for 6. I am extremely shy, especially when meeting new people. I used to be good at it, but that's kind of disappeared! So, anyway, I just want to know what exactly happens during a workshop? Like what would be a typical experience? What happens when you walk in the door? How many people are usually there? What kind of activities go on? Are you encouraged to the point of being forced to do things out of your comfortzone? (perhaps an extreme question, but I had to ask) Also, what's the group up to now? Are you in the middle of a production? Thanks to anyone who reads and/or answers my queries. Yours Sincerely, An extremely nervous Spitfire |

The group is indeed currently running a production, Jerome Bixby's "The Man From Earth":
https://www.facebook.com/events/439561036128465/ When you go in, you'll be greeted by some of our loveliest people, who will take your name, and fill you in on how everything works with the group. The attendance numbers fluctuate depending on the time of year etc... but I think it's usually in the 30s-40s. It usually kicks off with some name games/warm up games, to get you relaxed, and help you remember at least a couple of names! After that is anyone's guess, as each workshop differs, depending on who is running it and what they're going for with the workshop. You'd be encouraged to take part and to do all sorts of things that would/could push your boundaries, but never forced. The more you put in, the more you get out though! ![]() The best thing to do would be to pop along to one of the workshops and give it a try. Your first one is free, so you've nothing to lose by trying!

If you keep an eye here, or on Facebook, you'll be able to see when the group will be going on the summer break, (Everyone needs one!) just in case the post-exam timing doesn't work out!
